Crocs for blister prone?

I'm usually a sneakers person. I wear sneakers all the time, everywhere. When we go to WDW I wear sneakers, with a pair of thin socks with heavier ones over them and moleskin on my feet where I know I'll get blisters.

That being said - these boards make Crocs sound fabulous. But this inquiring minde needs to know - How are they for blister prone tootsies? Are they comfortable enough to wear all day walking the parks? Are they slippy on the foot, making heel blisters a possibility?

I'd consider buying a pair for our August trip if for no other reason than to be able to get the Belle Jibbitz for them. But, I want to know if they are truly practical for that sort of abuse.

I was not a croc fan until they came out with the Disney crocs. Being very pregnant, I thought they would be a great solution to my problem of not being able to tie my shoes... :rotfl: I often get blisters, too. I've had my crocs for a week now, and they are very comfortable. However, I have a nice big blister on the top of my foot. They rub against my high arches. I think it just depends on how they fit your foot. I couldn't go to the next size up because they wouldn't stay on when I tried walking in the store. However, I just bought a box of bandaids, and I'm good to go. I wouldn't wear them all day at Disney, though - just because of my blister issues. Hope that helps...

I tried them just on two days of my trip this past Sept. and got blisters on top of blisters. I had worn them around some before we went and did not have problems but I also did not love them like some people do.

my ds9 wore them and got blisters too. But my ds3 and dd2 didn't. I agree it depend on how they fit your foot..

Hi
I'm blister prone and I didn't get any from wearing my Crocs. It did take me 4 pairs of ordering them before I found a pair that fit good. They all fit different. I wore my Disney crocs the whole time in December and my feet felt great. Not one blister. Also, I wore the Croc Scutes, (they're a slide) the whole time in August and they were the most comfortable shoe I had ever worn. If your Crocs do rub, you can put them in the dryer for about a minute and pull up on the part that rubs and they will be better.

I have always gotten blisters when I am in Disney, except for this year when I wore my crocs. I got a hot spot one day and switched to a different pair of crocs and had no problems at all. I do wear mine with socks, don't care how they look, I am all about comfort and coming home without blistered feet was well worth looking a little out of style.

I don't consider myself really prone to blisters, but I did get blisters from my Crocs in August. Right on the bony part above the arch.

DS10 wears his Crocs with socks, which looks ridiculous with shorts but he didn't get any blisters.

I changed shoes on my first trip to WDW and I had a blister on the bottom of my foot that was monstrous:scared: and it was only the 2nd day of a 6 day trip. SO get your shoes and where them before you go and see. Don't look like Walter Breenan hobbling around.:lmao:

Thanks all for the input. If I get crocs they will prolly be to supplement my current regime as opposed to replacing it.

I'll be sure to try them on before purchasing.

Thanks again

For me, it doesn't matter which shoes I wear I am prone to getting blisters on 2 toes (pinky on one foot and 4th toe on the other). It is just the way my feet are shaped...those toes are turned (on the sides almost) and they kinda sit under then next toe so there is always friction, thus a hot spot. I can say that when I wear my Crocs, it takes a lot longer to get those blisters because in my sneakers and other closed in shoes, the toes are more cramped and thus more friction. So, as a precaution whenever I'm doing a lot of walking, I just tape those toes using white medical tape or a bandaid...the tape tends to work better though...no more blisters. I know this and some other foot issues will have me in a podiatrists office someday, but for now, this works for me.

I wore my Crocs for our trip last week, and never got a blister. I rotated them (brought 4 different pairs) and sprayed antiperspirant on my feet every AM. I also used BodyGlide every morning (with Crocs, I just put it on and made sure to let it dry for about 10 minutes before putting on my Crocs- otherwise, my feet would slip around a bit in the shoes). Worked like a charm! I also gave myself a foot massage with peppermint lotion every night after getting back to the room.

My feet, normally prone to blisters by the second day, did great for the whole 7 days of walking. We did the parks open to close on 6 days, and DTD all day after the 3rd park day. I don't think I will ever do Disney again without my Crocs and BodyGlide.

Thanks for this post. I was wondering this too. I just bought some Crocs yesterday, even though I don't have a Disney trip scheduled for a while (poor me!). I think if I was going there, I would wear my usual Adidases (which are very comfortable) and just use the Crocs around the pool or something, not for all day in the park, just to be safe. :thumbsup2

Pick up some Body Glide! Just smooth some on your hot spot (if you think you know where it is or when you feel you are getting one) and you should be ready to go. I heard about it on this site and went and picked some up before we left. The stuff is wonderful! :woohoo:

If I wear my Beach Crocs *without* the heel strap (with the heel strap pushed forward) then I start getting blisters on my toes. I think from unconsciously using my toes to grip the shoe. When I wear them with the heel strap behind my heel, no problems.
