Ok, I just found something called Crocs Camp Clogs at sportsmansguide.com (http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=215121). Does anyone have these? It says the strap can either be worn behind the heel or forward to be worn as true clogs. Does the strap on the Beach model do this? It doesn't say on the crocs website.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the beach cayman and nile can all do this though the nile looks funny if you do it!

Just curious if the Niles are good for long walking around. I like the look alot more than the beach, so i was wondering if the flip flop or anything?

I got the beaches first and then the Niles. I don't like the niles at all. they are not as wide and not as comfy to me.

They're comfortable, but don't seem to have as much support as the clog styles, nor are the soles as thick. This could be an issue for a long day on hard pavement...not as much shock absorption. They flop a little, but not nearly as much as flipflops.

You're all saying that the Beaches are good for wide feet, but what about narrow feet? I'm a pretty slender size 8.5. Do you think I'll have a hard time keeping them on my feet?

Thanks!

Just have to tell my story. 8 months ago thanks to disboards I bought a pair of Beach Crocs and LOVE them. We went to Hawaii in Aug. and in every surf shop they sold Crocs even kids sizes. So I bought a pair of Niles. Yuk! I didn't like them at all. We went to Disney last week and my mom who wouldn't wear the Crocs I made her buy in June before our trip, forgot her walking shoes but I had packed her Crocs for her. She had no choice but to wear them. She wore them with socks since she get blisters. She could not get over how wonderful they were. She was sold! She would tell everyone who sat next to her about the shoes. She even wants to write the company a letter about how great they are. My friend who came with us on the trip had been making fun of me since the day I bought the shoes. The first day after MK her feet were killing her. I had brought my Niles and the day at MK I hated them. She on the other hand feel in love. She thought they were great and alot cuter then the Beach. They might have fit her better since she has thin feet. So I have sold 2 more people on Crocs. :cool1: Even if they are ugly :rotfl2:

If you have a narrow foot, I think the Cayman would be a better fit for you. Both my sister that I gave the Niles to and another sister that bought a pair of Niles for herself have narrow feet. The sister who purchased her own tried the Beach and said her foot really floated in them. Again the Cayman and Niles are a "true size" meaning they come in whole sizes while the Beach are made to fit a wider range of feet being sized XS, S, M, L, XL.

That is tremendously helpful! Thank you, momsgoofy!

You are quite welcome! Just the other day my sister, to whom I gave the Niles, told me I should be CROCS salesperson as we were standing in the Gander Mountain store where a woman was trying on a pair of Keens and I was telling her how great my CROCS are. I think if they'd had some for her to try she'd have done so. I just really believe in the product and am not ashamed to say that I wear the blasted ugly things, but my tootsies love me when I do and tell me when I don't. :rolleyes1

how are crocs for flat flexible feet with ankles that lean in? I usually wear New Balance shoes with the roll bar in them to support my feet. I haven't found anything else that helps my problem feet. Oh I have plantar faceitis as well. Any experience with bad feet out there? Do crocs work well for my problems?

Thanks,
Elizabeth

There's gotta be something out there that compares but are semi pretty doesn't there? Someone tell me something, even if it's something you find close haha. Anything? Me want pretty!! :flower:

They are UGLY, but oh so comfortable. When I first wore them, I was concerned about the looks I might get. I started with a pair of white ones. They were so comfortable, I didn't care what they looked like. If I caught people staring, I would say... they may be ugly, but they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. My dd said they look like clown shoes, but now she wants a pair.

When I got the bright red ones, I thought they would really stand out, and they do, and I get more people asking about them.

Last week a little girl about 3 pointed to them and started laughing and said, "Mommy, funny shoes!". The mother was so embarrassed. I laughed and told her I think they are funny too but soooo comfortable. I used to think "clogs with shorts, no way" but now, 3 pairs later, it is all I wear. In fact, if I have on other shoes, people who see me all the time get alarmed and wonder what has come over me.

Go to the crocs website www.crocs.com to see all the different colors and styles available. I think the Beaches are the ones you usually see as someone already posted.

I usually wear mine with the back strap flipped on top of the shoe, but when I am at the beach, lake or tubing down the river, I flip the strap to the back of my heel.

LOVE MY CROCS!!!!! CindyML

Crocs are very, very popular here in Colorado. Mostly, you see people wearing them barefoot, but it's pretty common to see people wearing them with socks, too.

Most people say Crocs don't make their feet sweat. They are more of a foam than a plastic and not as slippery as the old jellies. I sweat a lot and my feet sweat in them too much to wear barefoot in the summertime. But then, there aren't a whole lot of shoes I can wear barefoot anyway, for that reason. I have a really hard time finding sandals whose insoles don't make my feet sweat. If you're like me, you might prefer your Crocs with socks. In fact, they make Crocs socks: http://www.thecrocsstore.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.9/it.A/id.1609/.f

I have both Niles & Beach. I wore them for monthes before going to WDW in April. With & without socks. Loved em. Took the Niles to WDW & got a blister on top of my foot from the Niles (didn't take the Beaches) First ever WDW blister.

Now I wear the Beaches & always with socks.

For a comfortable, yet pretty show, I wear either Cados or Danskos.

Not good for overpronators, as they have no rollbar, and really you need a stiffer sole to correct gait problems like that.
But for the plantar fasciitis, I have found nothing more comfy for relaxing around the house and pool. You know that incredible pain upon arising from bed each morning? Keep your crocs by the bedside, slip them on when you get up (after stretching your foot, of course!), and you can walk much more comfortably until your foot warms up enough for your regular shoes.
I have plantar fasciitis, among other things, but my arch is really high, so the same thing that works for me may not work for you. For instance, I have to wear orthotics to support my arch, so I can't wear crocs for long periods of standing or walking...I have to wear the orthotics. And although I used to swear by New Balance shoes, I've since switched to Brooks Addiction running shoes. They're much better for motion control.

Thanks for the advice on overpronation. Before I read this message, I broke down and bought a pair this afternoon. One of my feet is already hurting. Oh well, at least my hubby wears the same size as me. I guess he will get a pair of Crocs whether he wants them or not. Or, I may just use them as pool shoes or going out to get the paper.

Thank you all for your wonderful replies. I have worn my Crocs for the last 2 days non stop. I love them. I have never been more comfortable. I wore them with socks and without. So I will just see how I feel in the morning and go with it. I was on the playground with my class today and found out that Crocs are not good in wood chips. Just a little FYI.

DW in 3 days. I can not wait.

They are also not so great with gravel depending upon the size of the gravel...
