Ok, I took everyone's advice on this board and bought myself a pair. I immediately liked them. I even ordered a pair of the bright yellow ones on line and wore them to WDW. I put them on (without ever wearing them at home) in Florida and never took them off! I mean I took them off to bath and sleep :teeth: but only for that. Minnie actually loved them! She pointed to her shoes and then to mine and just danced and pointed and danced and pointed! :goodvibes So now I go to the backpackers shop and am determined to get hubby to wear them. He says NO WAY! Those are the ugliest things ever! I told him he doesn't have to wear the YELLOW ones but he still said no. Ok, bought him the black. Do you know that that 'idiot' put them on and said "oh they're good". sarcastically) and then wore them for a minute and couldn't say enough about them! He also hasn't taken them off! Goes to show you...........we women know it all! Of course I said I TOLD YOU SO! :p So there you have it! Buy them, wear them and love them! (I've got the new lime green ones ordered....shhhh...don't tell hubby). :rolleyes1

I bought a pair of sage green ones at the local REI this past Friday. I have worn them all around the house and out a few times (I spent most of the weekend painting the new upstairs addtion so I wasn't out much.)

They are ok, but I haven't found them REALLY wonderful yet. I wonder if I need to break them in 1st to feel the benifts. They are ugly, but I do like the color.

I have a black pair of niles ordered (I did it back in early April, but they are on back order.)

So I am a croc wearer, but not LOVER yet. Time will tell. :flower:

Haha! Same thing happened at my parents' house. My Father was trying to be a smartie :earboy2: and tried on my Mom's Payless Croc-offs. After shuffling around the kitchen for a few minutes, he wouldn't take them off. :rotfl2: At the time, Payless was doing the 'buy one get one half off' sale. So, Mom and I went back to the store and bought another pair for her and a pair for Dad!

my daughter's all have them (cool aunt bought them all some for Christmas), but when I wear my older daughters pair, they rub the bottom of my feet (around the ball of my foot), I feel like I could get a blister...what's up with that? I worry about buying some for the parks....can't deal with blisters!

Just got back from a trip May 14-28 and I have to say that buying Crocs were one of the best things I did for my trip. I wish my wife would have bought some as well. They are just so fricken light its like walking in bare feet. Sure they look kinda goofy but my feet never hurt after walking 7-10 miles a day in them. I would defintely try them on at least at my local Sports Authortiy or wherever you can try them before you buy them.

I just ordered myself a pair yesterday! Can't wait! Wish I had them in April when I was at the parks! Can't convince hubby to get a pair though!

What are crocs? I'm assuming it's some kind of comfy shoe. Can anyone provide a link? Always looking for good shoes here! Thanks!

Check out www.crocs.com

I wore my Payless version at work yesterday and the only time I sat down was at lunch! They held up to all my powerwalking from place to place as I organized a BBQ, put things away, and cleaned my classroom! My feet felt great last night! And considering I ran a 5K the day before, I was happy nothing from my thighs down still hurt yesterday!!!

I LOVE mine, but I've got one problem (DChef, where are you?). My second toe is longer than my first, and it works its way through the hole in the front! Anyone else have that happen?

Otherwise my dd and I love our crocs!

I was intending to trade off wearing my tennis shoes and Crocs while we were at WDW between May 20-28th. Well, after wearing my Crocs every time I put on my tennis shoes it was too confining. I ended up wearing the Crocs every day. It was great! I could not believe how much more comfortable they were vs. other shoes.
My 8YO DD and I made our trip a "Croc watch". We tried to count every pair of Crocs we could find and believe me, there weren't many. But when we found someone we would get so excited.
I could only find white so I looked like quite the dork. MY DD said I looked like a polar bear. :rotfl:

I also got the Payless "croc-offs" (great term MickeyMouseGal) in the two strap sandal version. Loved them at the parks last week! At one point I got something between the strap and my foot and got a small blister, but that wasn't the shoe's fault. ;) I kept a watch for the clog version, but didn't see any at all the whole trip. My DDs said my shoes were ugly, and one guest in line commented "My goodness, you sure have BRIGHT blue shoes", but I thought they were great. :goodvibes

Could you put a piece of moleskin over that hole on the inside? That stuff is so sticky that it would probably last for a while. Or even duct tape???

All I know is that I bought a very expensive pair of Ecco sandals for our last trip and within a few hours one of my feet was really cramping up so the next day I wore my Crocs that I had brought for around the pool. Well, needless to say they didn't leave my feet for the whole trip and I didn't have any blisters or sore feet at the end of the day. For this next trip they will definitely be my first choice and I don't care how they look :earboy2:

I even got my DH to get a pair by telling him to get them for around the house ;) He now loves them too.

After reading several threads here, I got a pair of the basic Crocs in navy, and wear navy socks underneath with jeans. No one noticed that they are indeed ugly, and a few people were amazed at how light they are. I wish I could find a store that sold them so I could try them on first. I have wide feet, so a tryout is necessary. The website lists store in the PA and Ohio area, but they only sell one version. :sad2:

You all have me intrigued! I might have to check these CROCS out for my July trip! :sunny:

Do you have a Bakers near you? I just saw these in Bakers here in NY yesterday. But I have to admit, even after reading all the raves here on the DIS about them, I couldn't bring myself to try them on. For now I'm sticking with my Teva flip flops, but we'll see what happens, I still have almost 3 months before my trip!

What model(s) are you all buying???

After reading the various comments on this site, I purchased a pair back in April for a beach trip--thought I'd break them in there. Well, there was no breaking in to do! They were comfy, perfect for the beach, and I just had to hose the sand off and they were good to go! After raving and raving, my husband decided he'd try a pair for himself. He got a black pair, and he loves them! We used them to do gardening in the yard (once again, the hose came in handy), walked all over town in them, and even wore them in the rain--no problem, the rain just goes right through them! They'll be our main footwear at DW in July!

I'm a Crocs convert too! Read about them on the forums, ordered a pair of Caymen in Khaki. Oh my, the best shoes I have ever worn! My husband was amazed at how light they are, and immediately ordered a pair for himself in black. Loved those so much we each had to order another pair - I got the bright blue Nile sandels, he got a chocolate pair.

Yes, they do look a bit goofy, but who cares! I'm old enough to be wise enough to enjoy comfort over looks ;-) Can't wait to wear them to my next trip home to WDW.

My first thoughts when I saw the 'original' Crocs post was similar to many of your own...."no way, no how"...

And now, I own two pair, my husband has a pair and my kids have at least one pair each (4 yr. old is waiting for hers to come directly from crocs.com so it may be a while)......

We did 8 days in the parks in our crocs and could not be happier. I'm wearing my red ones right now...they are so cool and comfy and as long as they are making them, I'll be buying them.

Crocs really ARE all that! :cheer2:
