I keep reading these threads about CROCS and can only think to myself how hideous they look - no offense to those who own them and love them. They just don't appeal to me.

I was was reading yet another thread about CROCS and went to their website to confirm what I think of them. I understand that they are comfortable, but I don't think they are attractive and can not see myself wearing them in any style.

Well, coming soon is a new model CROCS. The Athens flip-flop is the CROC for me! I can't wait until they are available - they'll be perfect for Disney in June. :sunny:

Currently, I have a pair of Clarks clogs that I bought last fall to wear to work at The Disney Store. I never thought I would like Clarks for myself, but now I wear nothing but these clogs. They were perfect for standing and walking around the store for four hours and I didn't experience any pain in my feet, knees or hips like I would have had I worn other shoes or sneakers.

It will be too warm to wear the leather clogs in the summer and so far I haven't found a "youthful" pair of Clarks sandals that suits me. There is a pair of loafers I've looked at for everyday wear, but those would be most suitable to wear to the office.

Now that I've found the CROCS Athens I am certain that I will have a summer replacement for my Clarks clogs.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my crocs, BUT I'm not sure I would be able to wear the flip flops. I would worry that I would get a blister between my toes.

They are out now, at least at some places, I saw first of the year, at
a Hallmark store in Florence, Alabama. They looked comfy :cool1:

I would buy that style. I always- yes even in Dec.- Jan trip 3 yrs ago- use flip flops.

I've been waiting for the Athens to come out. :Pinkbounc I will check the Hallmark Store first before ordering - thanks for the info!

I have the Cayman model and absolutely love them. I have worn them on our Disney trips and my feet and legs never seem to tire. They aren't the most attractive shoes - but when on vacation and walking alot, comfort wins over looks! :cool1:

I bought Crocs for my December trip. They were better than wearing walking shoes, but not as "wonderful" as everyone told me. The best thing I have ever worn to WDW are Reff Slaps. Reef makes a lot of different flip flops, but the Slaps are like walking on marshmallows. I have had my current pair since 2003 and they are pretty much flat, but they have been to WDW 4 or 5 times, Sea World, Busch Gardens, all over Boston, on a cruise, I just love them. They are the only shoes that I can wear for 15 hours in the parks and NOTHING hurts at the end of the day. No blisters, either. I also have Tevas and Reefs at 1000% more comfortable. You can get them online or at Pac SUn or other "surf" type shops.

They still do! My mom loved them, and tried to get me to buy a pair. I respectfully declined.

I have however, conceded to wearing a pair of Merrell clogs to work one night, a girl I work with gave me a pair that she bought on vacation and they didn't fit her. They are still hideous, but my hips and knees didn't hurt that night.

I know you said you like Clarks. Have you seen these. They look really cute and comfortable. They're the Privo line. I think they come in four different colors.

Hmmm. Now I *might* try those. I agree that the other Crocs are not for me. But, if I see these, I might just try them on. My favorite pair of sandals are Speedos and I got them for $13 from Sam's. They are easily the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. I wore them constantly in Mexico and my feet never hurt once. Unfortunately, I tried to buy another pair online and they don't have them anymore. These crocs look similar in styling so I might just have to try them.

i think we call all agree that we could drain pasta in the regular crocs, but they are still comfortable. These (and the Niles) look better, but I don't like open toed shoes. so until Crocs comes out with a sneaker, I think I'll wait.

There on sale for for $37.95 on Zappos.com, with free shipping!! That's 49% off. That's a great deal for Clarks. I'm ordering a pair for myself today! :teeth:

I know they are not the fashion statement that most people like. But Crocs are so comfortable, I wouldn't care if they were encased in dirt.

Honestly, if you've never worn them, you will never know.

One thing I do know is that at the end of a LONG Disney Day, my feet are not even tired let alone sore. I see some women in nice leather sandals that have blisters and struggle just to make it to the front gate. At that point, I'm sure they could care less how their stylish sandals look, and would trade for my "weird looking" comfortable Crocs in a heartbeat!

BTW, since Crocs are made here in Colorado, we have lots of new styles I saw just this week that aren't even on the website yet.

I bought a few different pair that lace (no back strap) and one that is a "one sided" sandal. Both are amazing, yet much more than the $39.00 of the standard style. Also, the newer styles have different sizing, so for those with 1/2 sizes that found the older ones a bit big, the new ones fit just right!!

They aren't $37.95 though :(. There's another called Lapis

that is similar but at $52.95 it's only $1 less than Maple. I'm anxious for Boscov's to get their assortment for spring. Usually there's some "buyout" on Clarks, last years models most likely, and I might be able to get a good deal.

A year ago, I had waited for months to receive my 1st pair of back-ordered crocs from the company's web site. I gave up hope in May & ordered a pair from a Denver shoe store that I found on a web search...had them 2 days later!

I luv the "colander style", wash them in shower once a week & Armour-all them frequently. Noticed that I'm losing the tread on the heels though.:worried:
Have foot problems & they're a life saver.

Hate the Niles, they have nubs that hurt the bottom of my feet.

Have the multi-size ones & they're big, guess I'll track down a 1-size model.

I'm a Croc convert, I swore up and down that I'd never wear the things, and now I own 4 pair!

It's all about the comfort with these things, not about the looks. I think they look goofy, but I still wear them!
