Crocodile Hunter

I was just wondering if anyone else's kids loved Steve Irwin, aka The Crocodile Hunter, as much as mine did.

When my DD was 7, she actually dressed up like the crocodile hunter for Halloween (not his wife Teri, but him-LOL). We thought it was so cute at the time, but now that he's passed, we are all a little down. My DD is especially sad, I guess because she loved the show so much, and being a teenager now, she feels immune to death & dying.


I guess I just wanted to pass on my thoughts and prayers to his family & fans. He will be missed!

My DS and I loved him so much. My DS wanted to be him when he grows up and also has dressed like him. We find that we have not even been able to watch any of the coverage about his death because it is upsetting us so much.

My DS and my DH liked him, especially. He will be missed.

I don't have kids but I really liked him and am really sad. My DH says it's because I identify with him being an animal lover and volunteering with animal organizations.

My DD (age 8) and I are big fans and I actually didn't tell her that he died. She doesn't handle death well, so I didn't want to subject her to any undue upsetness.

I'm still unsure if this is the right thing to do, but I just know how she will act if I tell her he died. She would FREAK out!!!!!!!

Both mine did. My oldest felt validated for her love of animals, especially the yucky ones. lol
Both my girls planned on meeting him some day. My youngest told me one time that she was moving down there and she would take me if I wanted, but she was going to work at the zoo with Steve.
