Re: the coffeepots & training Mousekeeping to check thenm for turn-off:
How about when the "Do Not Disturb" sign is up & the pot may be on?
then there are those that report occassionally, that their rooms have not been cleaned to spec--would sub-par or harried Mousekeepers be checking to see if the coffee pot's been left on?
If anything this thread has brought up the need to get the auto-shut off type pots or maybe they actually do shut off?
Ooohhh, & if they're taking requests, make them programmable
Personally, I'd rather not cook on vacation, but our tummies can't take unlimited restaurant food, & DH winces too much for all-park dining.
I think crockpots or other appliances, in tip top condition, are fine by me.
Yep, as OP noted, please don't go making sauerkraut :rotfl
If you cook in the coffee pot scrub it out! If you can haul in the food, you can certainly haul in a mini sponge & a thimble full of dish soap~
I wash out the pot before we use it--I figure it would be too easy to skip that step if a housekeeper's rushed!
Yep, what the resorts need is a lovely, resort themed, refillable crockpot!
beenie weenies, anyone?
