Did you know that the Crocs shows were in fact invented in Quebec!?
Yep, more than 10 years ago...
Funny detail : the US website doesn't mention it, and the Quebec inventor's website (Foam Creations) doesn't mention the development the US company had to do with it either, just that they bought their company to give it the expension it needed...
The Quebec company (which sported another name at the time and was a very small company) invented the special plastic which the Crocs are made of. It was originally for spa accessories... Friends and familly asked them to make some sandals, and they did (at the time, there wasn't the little strap on the back, that was added, amongst other modifications, by the californian people)...
What was made only for fun, to please friends and family (and for boating and outdoor activites in mind) got bigger and bigger by words of mouth... but still limited to Quebec.
Eventually, in a marketing convention, "California" met "Quebec" and for the sake of expension, the Quebec company was bought over... and the Crocs became what they are now : a worldwide phenomenon... and are now, sadly, copied!
But their origin lies here in Quebec, and it's one of the reasons why there is a factory in Canada!
Always make sure it's a real Crocs!
