While speaking to CRO, they told me that they will probably be allowing AP and Cast members to add the dining program and it would be coming out in December. Has anyone heard this, or is it just the wishful thinking that has been circulating?

Please do not start this rumor if not true. :rotfl: :rotfl: I almost jumped out of my seat reading this...>WHHHAATTT DISNEY HAS ADDED DINING TO AP. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I would love to see Disney allow the dining to be added to AP. That would definitely be a plus. However, I have to wonder how this would effect DDE.

Come on Dinsey.....pay attention to these boards...... start the room plus dining code to the confusion. Now that's what I am talking about.!!!!! Eat great and sleep cheap! Now that's a vacation.!!!!

I hope they announce it soon if they are planning on doing it. We are so willing and want to buy annual passes, but we love the dinning package so much.... it is just such a good deal. I also hope they announce this before we book our trip in the middle of December.

I LOVE THIS POST!!!! I was sitting at my desk at work and literally laughed out loud!!! :rotfl: I'm still laughing! Oh, my, my, my....

Well, I also thought it sounded like wishful thinking, but I did ask another CRO when I called back the next day. She said she heard something but who knows...
This was over the weekend. I waited to see if anyone else posted on this to see if it is really a possibility, so I just went ahead and asked the group today. Sometimes I think they just want to make you happy! Of course, it would be nice. The first CRO just sounded so sure, and was telling me how hard it also is for CMs not being able to take advantage of the plan and the point that he added December as a date. Though there are so many times that they do not even know the up to date changes which you find out here and the other websites!
Last weeked I booked the BRP for our March trip, for 2 rooms.

They actually just offered the CMs a dining plan for a certain timeframe for a couple of days in November, for an excellent price. Unfortunately not my timeframe of Dec. 1-5, so it does appear they are trying this out. As a former CM family, but an AP holder and DVC member, adding the dining plan to any of these groups would be something we would welcome. Let just keep our fingers crossed.

If it happens I'll be glad for those that are hoping for it as long as they don't take the DDE option for AP holders away. The dining plan will not work for us we don't eat cs so DDE is perfect for us.

Well, this is the THIRD time I have heard this and you know what they say - if you can get 3 people to tell you the same thing, chances are it's correct.

So, here's to hoping!!!!!!!!!!! And hoping that they do it before my trip!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I had read on the DVC boards that this was to be a possiblity in "the future" for AP holders and DVC owners. So it may be really happening....

Does anyone know if this would apply to FL residents as well?? If you book thier "room only" you cannot add dining as of now.

As far as DVC goes, Member Services is closing early on the 18th for training. It's a long shot, but maybe it has something to do with the dining plan. We probably wouldn't use it do to the age of our kids but I know many others would benefit from it...fingers crossed!!!

My heart started pounding when I saw this :earseek: -oh how I would love to have the dining option. Right now I have the DDE card-but I would love the option of both.
Diana-thanks for posting and lets all hope it is true.

Cindy :wave2:

Interesting... but what would it be tied to? Right now it is tied to the number of nights in a room, not the nights on the MYW pass (we have an upcoming onsite/offsite stay, 2 nights on, 6 nights off--- I booked a package for two nights + 8 day pass and dining and am paying for two nights dining.)

Rather than it specifically being tied to an AP or something-- it should just be something that could be tied to any room reservation, whether it be made with an AP, or DVC points, AAA code, rack rate, or whatever.

Very interested in hearing more.

I am intersted (as a current AP holder and DVC member) I know they are saying something about doing a DVC dining plan so I would guess they would also include AP too. (or at least that makes sence)

However I am rather septical of it. We went in Mrach when it was just starting, so most of the CM didn't really know about it and keep confusing out DDE with it. Things weren't to different in May when we were there last. However it seems with the popularity of the new plan it is increasing the number of people eating at TS restuarants and making it a bit harder to get PS for and get into. We used to just make a few PS each trip and then work in the others that day depending on what we where doing. I am concerned about it this next trip. I don't like to plan out where and when I am going to eat 90 days in advance. A few weeks fine, but not 90 days.

However I hope DVC AP do get the option! (and for as good of price!) :teeth: :goodvibes Here's hopping. (we need a little crossed fingers smily!) :teeth:

Not happening tomorrow. I just got off the phone b/c a waitlist came through so I asked, Roxanne (who I have talked to many times and seems very knowledgable/reliable) said it is there annual team building time. Something like the dining plan would be handled in a meeting that would not require a closer. Apparently it is still "a technical issue", which implies it is coming eventually. With online points viewing being available early next year (per Roxanne reading to me out of the member mag that just hit the mail) hopefully this isn't far behind.

DDE may only be good for 2005.
I heard they are still deciding.

So maybe it's a choice between DDE and Dining option for AP's.

If AP dining - could anyone possibly describe it ?
Would we have to eat large meals - like appetizer, salad , main dish, & dessert ? I would then gain 15 pounds (which I am trying to loose before June 2006).

We never did a dining plan before.
thanks

Personally I would hate to lose the DDE option. The dining plan does not interest me, I couldn't eat all that stuff.

Bring on the dining plan for AP and DVC!!! I can't wait. Crossing my fingers...
