Why would he mention being appreciated? And that he has HAD career changes for the better? If his mom was in trouble, I think he'd mention needing to be close to home with his family. The way Tom Bergeron did with DWTS. People don't hide that anymore, especially with social media the way it is. They know people would find out eventually.
