Crime Podcasts

I just stared the Jonestown series on Crimefiles.

Sounds interesting!

I was a My Favorite Murder Fan and they did a live episode at LA PodFest with Dave Anthony and he was so excited to do a murder story since he made them off limits for his show. When they talked about the girls being there for the live recording of The Dollop (New Jersey Shark Attacks - another on my repeat list) I tracked it down and was hooked! I listed to all their live shows and then started listening to every episode. So far I've got 80 something left of well over 300 episodes

If you like a podcast that sticks to a particular subject for a complete series then "Truth and Justice" is doing an in-depth review of the West Memphis Three case right now and it's pretty good.

The first season of Serial is so good! I loved it. You have to listen if you're into true crime. The second season is boring IMO.

Another thank you for the recommendations.

One I enjoy listening to is Myths and Legends. I get a kick out of the storytelling style.

Another vote for Sword & Scale.

In the Dark first season was about the kidnapping & murder of Jacob Wetterling, and was super interesting! They just started their second season about Curtis Flowers, a man who's been tried 6 times for the same quadruple murder. It delves deeply into each case, similar to the first season of Serial.

All my other podcasts are Disney or MTV Challenge related. lol

That sounds interesting! I watched the Paradise Lost trilogy on Amazon Prime about this case.

I'm only about 10 episodes in right now. It is definitely in-depth and is much more educational than it is entertainment. If you go into it wanting to be entertained, you will be disappointed. If you go into it wanting to learn more about the crime, the investigation process and the trial you will find it enjoyable. Some of it might drag on to someone who has a lot of knowledge about the case, but even those that do will find it interesting to hear a new thought process on the whole thing.

I started it yesterday and I'm hooked.

I'm about 15 or so episodes in. I listen to it on my walks in the park. Wait til you get to some of the new interviews and investigations. It's amazing the time and energy he's putting into this. I'm impressed with how detailed it all gets. There are some slow spots but it really pays off in the end. Enjoy!
