I have a question for the Cricut guru's. What is the main difference between the Cricut Expression and the regular Cricut machine (other than price)??

With the Expression you have more size options. You can make much larger pieces, but also smaller pieces. On the baby bug the smallest setting is one inch....on the Expression, it's a 1/2 inch (I think...I know I've cut stuff at 3/4 inch).

There are features on the Expression that the baby doesn't have. Some of my favorites are auto fill (will cut as many of an item as will fit on the paper without you having to figure out how many will fit), fit to page (will cut the item as big as it can fit on the page), quantity (you tell it how many to cut, push a button, then do something else while it works), and flip (will cut the mirror image of an item).

One more question for you guys...Do you have to use special paper, or can you use just regular scrapbooking paper??

Regular scrapbooking paper. Cricut sells paper, but you don't have to use that...I've never even bought a package of it:).

One more question...Do you think that the baby will be a good machine for things like the Disney cartridges?? Will those turn out okay and a good size for regular 12x12 pages??

LOL, here I am again:).

I have all of the Disney cartridges, and I've used them on both my baby bug and the Expression (yes, I own both machines). Some of the more detailed pieces are easier to do on the Expression because you can make them larger. For example, eyes and mouths for some of the characters can be pretty tiny, and sometimes they don't cut that well. Then working with such tiny pieces can be hard, too.

Would you happen to have any pictures of some of the pieces you've done on the baby cricut?? My MIL is starting her Christmas shopping and I found the baby for $140. I thought that was a super deal!!! So I'm trying to see if it might be something worth investing in.

I'm so sorry I have so many questions, but I'm trying to figure this whole Cricut thing out. What exactly is the Design Studio?? Do you buy the machine, install the software and you never need to buy cartridges?? or do you have to buy the cartridges along with it?? I'm so confused!!!

You have to have the cartridge to make what you design with Design Studio cut on the Cricut. So you need machine, cartridge & software.

I only have the baby Cricut, and I've done many Disney cuts with it. I love my Cricut & Disney carts. :) I'm posting all my Disney pages in this thread on the board:

You can just scroll through and find the times I used the Disney carts to see how they came out. I also have many of the Cricut cuts I've done before attaching them to the page here:

I have both cricuts and I mainly don't use the small one to much any more because the Expression can do so much more.

I have looked through your pages many times!!! I love your MNSSHP pages!!! We are going in October and I can't wait to scrap it. Your pages have really inspired me on some layouts I want to try. I'm thinking that the baby one will be enough. Right now the only thing I really scrap is our Disney trips, so I think it will work for me. Thanks for all your ideas and help!!!

One more question for you guys. It doesn't really pertain to the Cricut directly, but the Xyron. Do you guys use this to turn your Cricut creations into stickers?? How exactly does this thing work??

Thanks Pooh Girl. :)

If you asked what my 3 most used scrapping products are, I would answer my paper trimmer, my Cricut, and my Xyron. :) I use the Xyron all the time. I have the Xyron 510 & the 150 (I actually also have the 900, but it's so big I only use it if I'm attaching something that's really large, like 12x6 paper or something.) The 150 is perfect for tiny pieces or letters you make with the Cricut. The 510 is small enough to fit on my table, but big enough for pics and anything else. They are really easy to use, I used them all the time even before I had my Cricut. ;)
