Cricut or similar device

Does anyone have a cricut or anything similar? Likes? Dislikes? I'm thinking about getting one and was leaning toward the cricut but recently read that there may be better options out there.

I have the Silhouette. It doesn't need the cartridges like the cri cut. I love it! I have no complaints about it at all. I just made my Christmas gift tags this weekend and DS14 was using it for a school project.

I have the Cricut Expression and heaps of cartridges. I love it. I don't do as much scrapbooking as I used to...in fact barely any at all now. But its out all the time now for school projects and cards that the kids make. And my kids are only 8 and 10 so I'm sure we are going to get many more years worth. Its been well worth it to us.

I have the cricut expression and it's fine. It's cartridge based, easy to use and you don't need a computer to make cuts.

But if I were in the market to buy a new machine now, I would get the Cameo. It's software based so you can cut any font, svg file or silhouette file which can be purchased in their store. It gets amazing reviews for detailed cuts.

We have a Cameo and love it. I did not want to have to deal with buying cartridges for the Cricut
