Hi I am trying to make my mats sticky again. My machine is not even a year old and I bought new mats in Nov. I wander, Could I put on Aleene's stick and restick on it?

Is it repositionable?

I use Zig adhesive pens, this one. It's a nice broad tip. Spread a thin layer on, air dry then put the cover back on the mat.

i use spray adhesive - not sure which brand - its in my craft room and i am enjoying some alone time up stairs in my bedroom right now.
it works great. just a little spray and off i go.

oh jennifer please post what kind it is. i'd like to give it a try.
thanks

I got my repositionable spray at ACM (with a coupon, of course!).

They have two sizes, a tiny one and a large one - a regular spray paint can sized - is the large and that is the one I've got. I think that one was $6.49 (then the coupon). Of course, my gripe with ACM was that the can rang in at the register for $9.99 and I had to show the cashier the shelf sticker for $6.49 :headache:

Anyway! It is called "Best-Test Quality Repositionable Adhesive" and is in a gold can with a black top. It is acid free, blah, blah, blah.

When my Cricut mats are no longer sticky, I wipe them off with a baby wipe, let them air dry for a minute or two and give them a quick overall spray with this stuff. They're then all set for about another few weeks of use until I need to give them another hit. I think my current large can is a multi-year supply! This stuff works great!:thumbsup2

I was told that "tampering" with the mats that way would nullify the warranty. I don't know how they could prove that you did it, and I am sure that they said that so we all have to buy more mats instead of spray adhesive, (which I was using and was very happy about!). But it worked on me, I just keep buying mats...

I saw that too but the warranty is only 1 year anyway, my little bug is over that.
I really don't see what the difference is in their spray and one you buy anyway. Just as long as all of you that do re-apply tape off the edges when using spray. That way the rollers don't get stuck on the mat edges.

I use Krylon Easy Tack. I did not use it on the mats I used with my machine until I had it for a year (since there is not a warrenty left on it).

Oh and if you use a baby wipe to lightly wipe down the mat before putting it away helps the renew the tack a bit. It works really nicely for linty paper.

Oh you ladies are wonderful! After completing 3/4 of my Disney album my mats are on their last leg. I knew there had to be something I could do to revive them but was not sure where to begin. :thumbsup2 for being resourceful and Earth friendly!

I use the Elmer's repositionable glue stick... 2$ for 3 at Zellers!!!!

OK, you convinced me. It is back to spray adhesive, I go! My warranty is up, and I was enjoying the results. So glad I saw this thread!
