Cricut-- cutting tags need help!

I feel like such an idiot but I can't figure out how to change the length. I am using Plantain Schoolbook, the Shift/Italic tag -- has the diagonal cuts and hole at each end. When I set my size dial that determines the width but how do I change the length of the tag? I seem to only be able to do fat and long and skinny and short. I want fat and short and skinny and long!!

You can't unfortunately. You can adjust it on the gypsy by unlocking the chain link or you could probably do it on the design studio (or what ever they are calling it now).
Did you check other carts? I think Animal Kingdom has some longer skinny ones.

Seriously??? I thought I was just missing something. Bummer.
This is the only cart I have with tags, and don't have a gypsy or design studio. I have SCAL so I guess I will see what I can do with it. I was just trying for a quick and easy solution.

Would it be easier to just cut tags by hand? Or cut them big and then trim them to be skinny?

Probably! But why do it by hand when I have all these fancy machines to make my life more difficult? Yeah, if i had just started out making them by hand I would have been done hours ago.
