We are staying 5 nights at Saratago in May. We have more than enough beds for everyone but I thought about getting a crib for my daughter (she's 2). She only sleeps in a crib at home and I thought she might be more comfortable in the crib instead of a bed w/someone else.

Does anyone have any pictures of the cribs that you can get at Saratoga?

Thanks!!

I was told by MS that the cribs are of the pack-n-play variety and that every room already has one it the closet when you check in. Maybe someone who has stayed at SSR can confirm this.

I haven't used one at SSR but at VWL and BCV we had a PnP that was in the closet when we arrived.

That's what I was afraid of - it being a pack-n-play. I don't want that. I was thinking that I have seen on here people saying that they had real cribs too.

I'm fairly certain that you can request a full size crib from housekeeping when you check in, subject to availibility.

There are companies in the area who rent baby equipment. You could have a crib delivered to your room on check in day. This is probably the only way to be certain that you get exactly what you need.

Does anyone have a company to recommend?

when I asked I was told PnP- and my baby hates sleeping in them. while my SIL and DB almost 2yr old sleeps in one everyday at daycare and loves it.

If I could get a full sized crib instead I too would be all over that!

I will be staying at SSR from March 10-18 and requested a full size crib! The CM that I spoke to said it would be no problem. Hopefully it will work out!! My DD who is 8 mo. will not sleep in a PnP!!

Please let us know what you find out when you go on your trip. It would be great if they had full sized cribs too!

If you haven't put the request on your reservation it might be a good idea to call and do so before you get there. That way they may reserve one for you ahead of time. They did that for us at OKW last year and then we ended up not needing it as the 15 mo slept fine in the P&P. They had not put it in the room the day we checked in so when they called the next morning to ask if we still wanted it we said no. I have read that they are the metal type like used to be used in hospitals.

Definitely let us know what type of crib it is!! I don't believe my DD will sleep in pnp. I tried to put my son to sleep in one when he was little and it was a nightmare!! I swore I would never put any of my children in one again!

We went to SSR last May, and actually checked in on my son's 2nd birthday. I had requested a full size crib when I made our reservations, and reminded the not so nice castmember at check in. She said since we were checking in so late, (it was after 7pm) that she doubted we would get one. Like I said, she wasn't very Disney-like. I, after having had the trip from hell experience that day, retorted back for her to pick up the phone and call mousekeeping and get me a crib, or she could get me her manager. I know that I too was rude, but it worked. Within 10 minutes of us being in our room, mousekeeping brought us a full size crib with Baby Mickey sheets!!!! So it did work out great, and my son slept with no problems for our entire vacation!!! So yes they do have full size cribs, I just think they want you to use the pack-n-play that is already in the room.:yay:

My wife, son and 7 month old twin daughters will be staying at SSR in April and were wondering the same thing. Great info and feed back everyone, thanks!

We've used A Baby's Best Friend 3 times now with great satisfaction. All linens come in plastic wrap and the full size crib is easy to assemble. We usually take extended trips and I don't like DS to have to sleep in a PnP for so many nights. The full size crib was perfect and now we have graduated to the toddler bed. ABBF has all sorts of products available for rental, we even got a rocking chair one time!! http://www.abbf.com/index.html

I would definitely NOT count on this, a request is simply that. We've requested it before and arrived to find nothing available, better take a back-up phone number from one of the rental companies with you just to be safe.

I expected to get 2 full size cribs at SSR for my grandchildren, which is what I was told. I had to call all evening long, and a PNP was delivered. I kept calling, and a metal crib, the size of a portacrib was all they had. So, I would rent one from a company if you want a guarantee.

Try http://www.abbf.com/. They rent everything you could ever need for kids. We have used them 3x and have been thrilled.

Be careful what you wish for. We stayed at OKW in November, and for some reason the pack n play was missing from our room. The resort was "maybe" half-full. I called down to the front desk and asked if they could pull us a pack n play from another room. They brought us a metal crib. Ugghhh!! Our baby is very easy-natured, we had driven down, everyone was tired. Her crib at home is wood.

Several times each night she'd roll in the crib and hit herself on the metal bars. What a horrible crib!! Remember, whatever your child sleeps in, DVC does not provide crib bumpers. The irony is, she occasionally has to sleep in a pack n play and does great. I know someone will ask me why I didn't make a bigger fuss and get a pack n play....I contracted Norovirus the 2nd day we were there and had no energy whatsoever.

I had no idea metal cribs were even made anymore, ick!

I think they use metal because of sanitation. Wood has the potential for cracks and crevices that can potentially harbor germs. Yes, I DO have OCD, in case you were wondering! :rotfl:

Anyway, our kids use the metal cribs at SSR without a problem. Here is my DD in one last month:
