Creepy, creepy packaging!

Saw this at Target yesterday and did a double take.

Looks like the boy is trapped inside the box while Elmo is strangling him.

They just look so plastic and they creep me out! Lol

Yea, I remember when Tickle Me Elmo was all the rage. That one was ok. The hugging Elmo looks creepy.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't think Elmo was "choking" the child at all. I like Elmo and I thought it was cute. Looks to me like an Elmo-type hug coming.

The boy is laughing. I think it is cute and I liked it when I first saw the commercial.

Eh, I would say they could have done better with the photoshopping. I don't find it creepy though.

Tickle Me Elmo was one of my daughter's favorite toys of all times. I find nothing wrong with the packaging.

Did you also warn them against buying a drum set? We offered to buy a child-size drum set for our 2-yr-old grandson (just kidding) but his mom was not amused. She'd probably prefer the Elmo.

The word "creepy" has become a bit like, "bullying" and "amazing" - way overused, and/or used when it doesn't apply.

I see nothing even remotely creepy about this toy's packaging.

Oh yeah they have been warned. I don't want either in my house. I like Legos. Nice calm QUIET Legos. Well until they get left out and I step on them!

Yeppers, I'm sticking by my original post. This toy's packaging is creepy. It's a box with the cut out of a boy INSIDE the box. With Elmo's furry paws around his neck! This may be the sweetest toy to ever land under America's Christmas trees, but the packaging does nothing to recommend this to me.

Yep, every time my DD and I see that toy in Sam's, we call it Serial Killer Elmo, if you're not right up next to the box, it really does look like Elmo is strangling some poor boy to death!
