Credits at Via Napoli question!

(Sorry, if this is not in the right place. I would assume that this would be the best place to post it.)

My wife and I are trying to get our dining plan put together (opens for us in a week!), and for our second day at Epcot we want to try Via Napoli for dinner.

How do the credits work for the pizza? I would think they charge more than 1 credit for a large. Disney's site gives no info on it. We are on the DDxP if that matters.

Individual is 1 credit for 1 person.

Large is 2 credits for 2 people (note that it is limited to 2 people, they will not serve a large to 3 people on credits!)

1/2 meter is 4 credits for 4 people.

All are using adult credits. Kids have to order off the kids menus and cannot count toward the credit cost of the pizzas.

I heard a rumor that you can no longer combine credits for a large pizza. You can only get individual pizzas. And yes, you still get app, desert, etc.

With VN being a notorious stickler for the policy as written, it would suggest that they wouldn't have something be "not enforced", so it's likely that the rumor was caused by some people either trying to skirt the system, or being just too far out for VN to comply. Since your case was the "right" number of people and both on identical plans, it probably fit the tiny little box they have open for it.

Of course, that's all just guessing based on the rumors, the reports of VN being very picky about how they deal with the plan, and the method that the pizzas were designed under in the first place.

I think in terms of real size, the individual is bigger than half of a large. I've had the individual pizza, and it is quite big, even when compared to the large pizza at the next table. If you had gotten 2 individual pizzas, you likely would have had even more food left over to bring back to the room. If they actually allowed sharing, I'd say the individual pizzas are easily enough food for 2 people to share.

We were allowed to share when we went to Via Napoli last year. The five of us (4 Disney adults and one child) used 3 adult credits plus purchased 2alcoholic beverages. I don't know what we are going to do this year because 5 individual pizzas (even if one is child sized) will be entirely too much food.

The individual pizza is not small. I am always taking half of it away with me.

I think it was just this year that they went to no sharing pizzas outside the number of credits per guest on the dining plan. I have seen it reported numerous times that they will not now allow two DDP guests to share an individual pizza. Each would have to get their own.
