Hello! About to leave for my first WDW trip as an adult, so I don't already know the answer to this question! I don't like to carry large amounts of cash, and I certainly don't like to pay fees at other ATMs, so I was wondering if most restaurants (table-service and counter-service, and even the little snack stands) and shops accept major credit cards (i.e., Visa, MasterCard)? I have not been able to locate this information anywhere!

TIA!! We're off very soon!

Yes. All the merchandise locations, table service and counter service resturants accept Credit cards. "Most", if not all, of the snack stands also are accepting them now. They were in the process of getting the snack stands the hand held credit/room charge palm pilots. I believe that they are all online with them now.

Thank you so much! I'm glad to know I don't have to schlep a bunch of cash around with me, too!

You could also save yourself some interest and purchase travelers checks at your bank! They are replacable! :) I always carry 1/2 my dough in cash (keeping some in safe each day) and 1/2 my dough in travelers checks.

Just about everyone takes cards - if you're staying onsite, you can just charge to your room. Only place we found that didn't take room charges was the funnel cake stand at USA in Epcot. Even the FOod and Wine Fest took them.

We carried very very little cash, only for tips and quick bites like the funnel cake place. ATMs are Bank One/Chase, which we bank with, so it was free to remove cash there.

If you have a Disney Visa card use it and get those points for your next WDW trip. That's what we're doing in January. I'll proably use it for most of our purchases and meals. Plus we'll be taking some cash for those small items-ice cream bars, cookies, drinks...
If you don't have a Disney Visa-get one! There usually have special when you sign up. We got my gram one and she earned 50 points once she used it once. They have a website, but I'm not sure what it is. Plus, there are places all over WDW to sign up too.

Have fun!

The soda vending machine in our building at Pop Century took credit & debit cards (just the one on the first floor)
