Credit card Fraud again

Amazingly, I am in the parks several times a week, in the resorts several times a year and have never had my cc info stolen. Maybe I am just lucky, or maybe it’s got something to do with using magic bands (token), Apple Pay (token) regularly, Mobil speedpass (token) for gas, and chip cards when I have to. Probably a combination.

I don’t use debit cards.

I did have someone change an address for one of my cards that I don’t typically use, request a new card and get it from Capital One. I received a notice from my credit monitoring service that I had a new address, but they could not tell me who reported it. A few months later I noticed a late payment on that account, called capital One and was told that my address was changed. Filed a police report but that address stayed on my credit reports for years , even as I notified all 3 bureaus that I never had that address.

I would much prefer if we went to all token based transactions. That way the store does not get the actual card number.

When my new card came with an RFID symbol on it, I called the credit card company and asked for one that was "swipe and chip" only, without RFID. Without any complaint whatsover, they sent me a non-RFID card. So, no anti-RFID wallet needed for me.

My Disney Visa was hacked within the past month. Thankfully Chase picked up on it and contacted me. It was just a feeler charge of $3 - to see if it would be picked up on. I do use this card a lot for various purchases so it could be a break in the system anywhere. I am just surprised that you had to pick up on it and they didn't.

Most if not 99% of retailers do not check signature. I am surprised that with the new chip security they didn't also include a signature and a Pin for any transactions. I would feel better having to enter a pin than scribbling my name on the pad.

My Disney Visa was compromised in October, which was about a month after we got back. Chase caught it before any charges went through. The fraudulent charges were for hotels in Orlando, so it must have happened sometime during our trip.

It's annoying, but it's also the reason I never use my debit card anywhere.

Our Disney Visa was compromised last spring, about a month after getting back from WDW. Someone used the card at two gas stations. Chase picked up on it and contacted us. Did it take everyone else two weeks to get their new cards? I've had two cards compromised in the past and the credit card companies have sent replacements quickly, but Chase took quite a while.

I spoke with Chase last Wednesday when our card was hacked. I was told that new cards would be sent out and we would receive them in 3-5 business days. Today was day 5 and I still do not have the new card. I called Chase today and inquired as to where the card was. They said they had been sent out but if I didn't receive them by tomorrow they would overnight new cards to me. I don't understand why they didn't just overnight them to begin with.

I hope you get them today! I completely agree that they should overnight them from the start.

I never use my Disney visa. It pretty much just sits there unused. But... I decided to use it to book a Disney cruise and a few weeks later I received a call from the credit card company asking if I had used the card for some charges in California. I didint. They were small charges (someone testing the waters perhaps) so they reported those as fraud and sent me new cards. This happened a few months back. I thought it was strange that I finally use the card (at a Disney company no less), and shortly thereafter ... fraud.

Amex always overnights a new card. Chase takes their sweet time.

That makes me feel better. When Amex sent a new card and it came to our house less than 12 hours later I said to my wife that we are way too important to them.

Just got a text alert this morning from chase Disney that my card was used at target.com for over $1000. We have only been back from the parks for a week. Customer service was great and is overnighting me a new card, they offered.

I charge everything to my Magic Band. This way, I only have to use the card once. But more importantly, I get 5.25% cash back on travel, so charging everything to the room lets me maximize this.
