Credit Card Dilemma

Hey everyone, so up until now I've only had a debit card but going down for the fall I know I'm going to need a credit card for emergencies but I don't know which Chase card to choose. I either want the Disney Rewards Visa or the Chase+1 Student account. Can past or present CPer's make any suggestions?

I can't speak for the Chase+1 card, but I have had the Disney Rewards Visa for a long time, and I really like it! For every $100 you spend, you get 1 Disney Dream Reward Dollar (DDRD). You can redeem these at many places on Disney property, plus Disney merchandise at certain retail locations.

You have to have a minimum of 20 DDRDs saved up before you can obtain a Disney Rewards Redemption Card. Once you have the Redemption Card, you use it like a debit card for eligible purchases. Once you transfer the DDRDs to the Redemption Card, however, they usually expire by the end of the following year, if I'm not mistaken. But if the DDRDs aren't on the Redemption Card yet, it takes a while till they expire (hope that makes sense).

I love being able to use my DDRDs at the parks. For example, I ate at a table-service restaurant a few months back and was able to pay for my whole meal using just my DDRDs - so nice.

i contacted the people at chase +1 since the application was down and they told me that they were no longer accepting applications so i was thinking great my choice made for me. So i applied for the Disney Rewards visa and hope i get accepted.
