Just wanted to share a good experience I just had with a credit card customer service rep.

I have a Disney Visa (big surprise huh ) and I use it for a lot of business transactions. The business doesn't have a credit card and I get to build up my rewards points - a win win relationship.

In checking my purchases on-line this morning I found a charge for $310 that I had no recollection of.
Identity theft was my 1st reaction :scared1:

I called the 800 # on the back of the card and spoke with a representative who then transferred me over to the "dispute department".

The dispute rep checked the transaction and I still couldn't recall it.

This is where he went over & above.... IMHO

He called the merchant for me, he found out exactly what is was for, he set up a conference call so I could also speak to the merchant and stayed on the line until we had the issue resolved.

Needless to say the charge was legitimate (an annual re-occurring web hosting fee) that I put on my c/c last year and they used that to bill this year's fee.

So today I am giving a big thumb up:thumbsup2 to Disney Visa/Chase
and I'm also getting my $310 back from the business too :goodvibes

Some companies do indee offer excellent customer service. Kudos to them.

My experience with Disney Visa has been excellent. Over the years we've had our cards compromised more than once and Disney Visa has been excellent to work with.

I love my Disney VISA. It got me a free Dooney & Bourke bag last week (using points). :thumbsup2

I to have had nothing but great service from them. Once having them put a hold on my card due to a charge that I couldnt identify. I was thinking someone had my card #. Together we figured it out, a business used another name for their charge of an annual renew, which had me in a panick, they were so calm and helpful. Had me to the right people and explained what my options were.

That is so rare these days to have such a positive experience. Thanks for sharing.

We have the Disney Visa, and DW got an email about a suspicious charge, which was supposedly through PayPal. We both have a PayPal account, but only hers had the Disney Visa on it. She didn't recognize the charge so called Chase, and they immediately closed the account, but the payment in dispute and issued us new cards. I investigated, and found that her PayPal account had somehow been used to issue the payment to some "company" in the UK for some software service.

The amount of the charge they flagged as suspicious? $6.27

I'm very impressed. Except it took over a week to get the new cards and it was the only non-Amex card we currently have. I told Citibank to pound sand when after nearly 25 years I was such a valued customer they raised my rates and added an annual fee - after I kept the card a couple years before when they begged and pleaded for my business after a security breach forced me to close or change accounts. This time they didn't even try to keep me.

Funny thing is now is that I have a $0.01 credit balance because they screwed up in calculating a finance charge on the last bill (which I maintained I shouldn't have been charged at all, but I was closing the account and wasn't going to fight over $2.25), and they will probably send me a statement forever to tell me that...

thought i'd add my own visa customer service story. Not so much as a story as a tip i received from these boards a while back. Basicly visa (and i believe most of the credit cards) have an insurance policy so that if you have an item stolen (lost) that you purchased on your credit card the company will reimburse you.

I had accidently left my ipod on the front seat of my car with the doors unlucked (yep not too bright) and it was stolen. I called the company, filled out some paperwork and sent them my receipt and it was reimbursed. I believe the insurance is up to a certain ammount of lifetime claims. Now i make sure i charge everything to my visa. Just in case.

Nice to hear. :goodvibes Way better than my awful experience with Disney dining yesterday trying to make ADR's. I felt like I was talking to someone over a walky talky.
