Creative mommy types...what do you think?

When we originally concieved the nursery, it was painted in Pooh Bear Yellow with a Classic Pooh w/Honeypots border. DFIL paid to put in new carpet that's sort of a sky blue and, because we have orange-peel textured walls that hate anything self stick (like the borders) he custom made these little..holder things with sky-blue molding.

Now according to him, we can remove the molding, take the holder thingies out and peel off the border and replace it with something else without it looking too funkdafied once we put it back together.

Now that's all fine and dandy and cute as heck for a baby, but DS is growing up. He's a toddler now and I feel that his room should change to reflect that.

I was thinking, since he likes the movie CARS so much, I'd take out the old border and replace it with a CARS border. I think the yellow in the border will go ok with the yellow in his room, as well as the blue going with the baby blue of his carpet.

What does everybody else think?

I just did Cars in my DS3's (almost 4) room. I think you'll be just fine doing it that way! Very cute! Just so you know....Wal Mart has this fantastic Cars rug that has a roadway and racetrack on, very cute. And a Cars stop light.

Sounds cute. From what I have seen of all the "Cars" stuff, there is enough blue and yellow to go fine with how you described the room.

Glad I came up with something cute and boyish for DS's room. I'll have to go to Wallyworld to see if I can find the rug.

I was also thinking of re-doing his bathroom (which is white laminate flooring, cream walls, white toilet, white tub white sink). When he was a baby, we bought these stick-on things for the tile backsplash in the tub. They are blue squares with yellow ducks. We also have yellow duck curtain rings for the showercurtain (also blue/yellow with ducks), a yellow duck toilet seat cover and a bathtub-shaped soap dish with a duck perched on the edge of it. There is also a yellow duck soap dispenser.

But I can't for the life of me figure out what to do with his bathroom, or if I should change it at all.
