Haven't been to a CM party in years, and I'm going to a friend's house for one tonight. Has anyone done the card project? Give me some help so I can decide what photos to bring for this activity.
Also, any recommendations on what to buy? I usually get supplies from Michael's, JoAnn's, AC Moore (plus my stuff from WDW and DCL). Maybe there's a great tool/gadget from CM to get...
Thanks for your ideas!

Are you talking about one of those fold-out cards? I think they hold about 5-6 photos. I've got one lying around that I still haven't completed.

I think one of my favorite CM tools is the latest 12 inch page/paper trimmers. Both the straight and the wavy. They are so much easier to use than the old straight/wavy template for the cutting system. But they're not exactly new; I think they've been out for a couple of years now.

I also am a HUGE fan of Perfect Fit paper, and they have a lot more patterns out now than what they started with. For me, it makes it much easier to make an album with them, since I'd almost rather use them than lots of mats & embellishments. Also, I love the Storybox sets for mats & journaling. :thumbsup2

thanks for the suggestions! All that my friend (the host) could tell me was that she thought it was some kind of card project... I googled it and tried to figure it out so that I could plan. It finally dawned on me to ask here!

I think it is probably the project I did about 18 months ago. It is a large card and they give you two colors/type of square stickers and a journaling block. I made a thank you card to give to my SIL. We had just gotten back from a weekend away with my SIL and my nephews. I used pictures I had taken over the weekend and it made a GREAT thank you card. She really loved it. I think I included about 5 or 6 pictures (as beasleybear mentioned). It would also make a great element if added to a larger page. Have fun! BTW, I would recommend their corner rounder punch (used mine for about 5 years now and it still works great every time, plus it "catches" the punch scraps.... I also love their tape runner, but I hate having to place an order every time I run out). .....................P

You probably worked on the Storybook card. Hope you had fun checking out all of CM's new products! Sorry I wasn't able to give you suggestions before you went to the Get Together for your wish list. My favorite tool is the multi purpose tool. LOVE that thing for positioning abc stickers and relocating photos on the page.:thumbsup2

Thanks again. I ended up with a corner rounder, the journaltopia guide tool (that was cool when I tried it, because I tend to write downhill) and the bubble punch (just because... well, I do have a cruise book to do!). My neighbors and I will be sharing our purchases, too.
fyi, for anyone else: the card is 7x7; the sticker/accent packs that she had were in muted palettes of blues, greens, browns, burgundy. I took some photos of the kids at the beach this summer and they worked well with the blues/greens.

That's right: I've done that card at a get-together before...about a year & a half ago, I think! I'd forgotten it! (I was thinking of the multi-fold card that they offer.)

Sounds like you got some cool stuff! I like Journaltopia, too; although I dislike the name. (It came out around the same time Dinotopia was on tv. LOL!)

Lisa, the multipurpose tool...we call that "the spatula" around here! :rotfl: And yes, it's very handy.

I forgot about trying the multipurpose tool!! She mentioned using it with stickers and then I forgot to try it. Got distracted by the paper punches... :)

If you love the storyboxes stock up. They are officially while supplies last, except the power pallate ones. I love the storyboxes.

That really sucks becasue some of the storyboxers are so great. They seemed to put alot of things on till they last status

I got severly hooked on CM from a relative. No other product is as nice. If you have any suggestions for theme park layouts, that would be nice!
Great site!

The CMC who introduced me to CM called the multi-purpose tool the "naughty tool", bacause its great for getting things off that have accidentally landed in the wrong place. Now we all call it that, and one of my customers had to ask me to find it for her as she did a search on the site and naturally it came up blank :rotfl:

ETA the tape runner refil comes in boxes of 6, so you may find your CMC has some in stock, or if you're feeling rich or have a birthday ask her if you can buy a box of 6 for 10% off - she will still make a profit and you'll get a bargain ;-)

I know, they didn't put the power pallette storyboxes on WSL just the previous ones. I am stocking up because I really like them.

And the power pallette's that are currently out are only expected to be sold until July. Which is crazy since they are really promoting them :confused3 I think they are trying to re-invent themselves but they seem to be getting rid of a ton of things.

I think they want to keep bringing out fresh designs to stop us buying paper etc elsewhere.

CM should offer a lot more stickers. The people at the SB workshops always seem to have more non-CM stickers than CM. I really like the CM ones and need a lot more!

I too wish they would offer more stickers and stuff. There are some stickers in the power palettes but they just don't have the selection that the LSS have even with paper. I love the perfect fit but wish they had a better selection
