Crazy to go w/ 2 kids & leave DH at home?

I'm dying to see the AKL next week (4/2-4/5) which is Spring Break for my kids' preschool. They are only 3 and 5. DH is working then and isn't a travel bug like me at all.

We are going to Universal/HRH in May. All paid for. HRH was sold out for our spring break week.

Would I be crazy to fly down from Newark, NJ with 2 little boys alone, hang out at the AKL, and just do AK one day? Kids are not angels by any means but I'm yearning for the Florida sun.

No, you aren't crazy at all. You should have a great time. I love AKL. It's awesome. The kids will love it.

Two years ago I took my two GD's, ages 5 & 8 for three days and we had a blast. The only time they were rowdy was when we were in the room. Have a fun time.

Do it, you'll have a blast. The funny thing is that you're kids will probably be even better behaved on vacation then they are at home. We found that to be the case, b/c basically their every desire is being granted.

I'm dying to do WDW with just the boys. I love having DH with us, but I think it would be so different if I got to spend some alone time with the boys - 4 & 8. We just purchased AP's, so I'm hoping maybe we can get some really cheap flights next spring and we can fly down for an extra treat.

Do it! Those will be memories you will cherish forever.

Do it! My sister and I took my 2 nieces(ages 4 and 6) just last week(her DH had to stay home and work!) to AKL. They absolutely loved it! The resort is beautiful and the kids will love the pool! They'll also love all the animals around on the different savannahs. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings,the characters come to the lobby and meet with the kids,sign autographs,take pictures,etc. Definitely go and have a great time!! I was so sad when my plane landed in Boston and I stepped out of the car into snow and slush!! We had gorgeous,sunny in the 80's weather every day in Florida! Have fun!!

I am a single mom who took my two devils -- term loosely used --
from Dec 1st to 15th the first 9 days my mom was there too but the last 6 we were by ourselves.. i pushed too much one day and caused a meltdown then decided to slow down and take it at their pace.. It was worth it and so we will go again for 9 days (11/29 to 12/07) and have a Blast !!!! Michelle ps they were 5 & 8 yrs old
