Crazy stories at disney world

Even when I was a teenager, I always hated trashy behavior like this.

I am almost 19 and I have always felt the same. Even with my friends in the mall if they start using obscenities in earshot of children I tell they need to watch it because there are children around. I have a 3 year old baby sister so I am aware that children repeat what they see and hear. Some people are just trash and you cant change that.

A few years ago, I was in Epcot, right around Germany.

Two girls appeared, one pretending to be holding a video camcorder and the other one dressed in a silver cap with a chin strap - similar to a "tinfoil" hat, if you know what I mean.

The one girl pretended to film the other girl, who started ranting about how Walt ruined this country, because he took away everyone's part of their brain that controls their own creativity.

Needless to say, I looked around and they had mysteriously disappeared. No doubt there was some secret door where security quickly whisks people away wearing "tinfoil" hats.

:scared1: I saw these girls too!!! Creepy creepy.

last year we walked out of Nemo ride at Epcot and right into the middle of filming for Extreme Home Makeover family at Disney

It must have been in August... we bumped into the filming while at DHS in front of TGMR

Thats very true, but nothing was done. Whether a CM heard them or not I dont know, but it was definitely a cruddy thing to say thay stuff at all not to mention in front of children.

I would have taken it upon myself to FIND a CM!

It was New Year's Day, 2005, in the early evening actually, the first day of our trip. As was our habit then, we skipped hitting a park on arrival day and went to PI around 7 pm. We got right into the line for the Comedy Warehouse and as we snaked our way around I happened to notice that not far behind us were a few young gals and one of them had a rather prominent 'balcony' on display, if you catch my drift. At any rate, wifey and I got seated in the first row from the top on the left, another youngish couple behind us and finally the 'balcony' girl and her friends, we were all in that same row.

The show started with the usual request for ideas from the audience for the improv folks to use and the gal in the youngish couple right next to us shouted out some stuff that the performers didn't use. Faced with this rejection, she started loudly to complain how lame the accepted suggestions were and it was clear that she was REALLY drunk and I'm an expert in this matter. Her boyfriend kept trying to shush her to no avail, the 'balcony' girl and her friends neither did nor said anything that I could see, and finally the boyfriend started to help the drunk to her feet to get her out of there. As they were lurching away, the drunk gal punched 'balcony girl' in the head unprovoked, and continued toward the exit.

Disney security was there in an instant to see if there was an injury, they got the victim a free drink and went in pursuit of the offender. I don't know what the final outcome was, but that was by far the strangest thing I've seen in WDW in over a decade of visits.

In reply to the trash talking teens--some people are so self centered that they just plan ruin things for others. It makes me sooooooo mad!!!!! What makes it even worse is the parents just let them continue. I guess you can't expect the kids to be considerate or have any manners if the parents don't, and don't teach their children any manners. I feel sorry for the others around them having to listen to that type of talk, really sucks.

it really is sad that my generation has so many of these people that think they can say anything and act however they want without regard for anyone else...Ive always hated being grouped in with that....Im now 21 and i go with friends to disney every year ranging from 18 to 24 and none of us would ever dream of doing anything like that....why?...bc our parents never let that behavior happen growing up and it carried over into our adult lives as well....i like to have a good time and i like to party....such is being a college student but at no time would i ever dream of doing something so rude...If these teens ever want to be seen or taken seriously as adults...they need to grow up

CM's deserve BIG raises! I think these threads are funny, but if I had to pull some idiot off the Mexican pyramid, round up people in tin foil hats, stop people from harassing the characters, and let's not forget those special few who like to let their children relieve themselves in public, I'd be nuts before lunch.

I agree with you completely! These stories and experiences can ruin other peoples DW vacations that witness this terrible behavior. I guess you don't need morals/class to go to DW, just money.

I have a few...but a feel good one is when we had my dd then maybe 4 yrs old in Epcot. We were in world showcase strolling along when we came across a rotund man with a long white beard with a red shirt and suspenders, well, Becky just kind of froze in place for what seemed like an eternity. The man smiled down at her, handed her a card without a word and strolled away. The card said "you hav just met the real Santa Claus". So, I said, "well, I guess Santa liks to vacation in Disney World too!"

You must have been there when we were. My Nephews saw him to. We were waiting for Illuminations to start and my sis took my nephews to get popcorn when they came back my 4yo nephew justs stopped and was stairing at him and that made my 10yo nephew stop and stair.:rotfl2: He just cured his finger telling them to come over and gave them both that same card:thumbsup2 They still talk about it and so do we its a great story to have. They met Santa at Epcot:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Doesn't that kind of creep you out a bit though? A strange man, that is probably NOT a Disney employee, approaching little kids all the time?

I never of thought of this like this :scared1:
To be honest with you though a CM would have approuched them by now and made sure it was safe

my crazy story is a cast member story (so my apologies to all the kind and wonderful cast members here)

My aunt is blind and we have taken her to Disney several times over the years. She loves it and travels well along with her various guide dogs/seeing eye dogs. One fall we were there during a pretty bad heat wave in October. The pavement is TORTURE on the dogs feet and we did everything we could to keep her in the shade.

(I should mention this is right around the time they invented fastpass and stopped allowing people to go directly to the exit to load those guests with handicaps.) We were not aware of this and to be honest I think that guests with handicaps should not have to wait in the regular line if they have letters from doctors, etc.

Well we go to the park and off we went on Jungle Cruise, Pirates and Tiki Room with no issues and no waits. We didn't have to go thru the exits because we were either ushered on immediately or brought directly to the handicap entrance due to the dog.

We walked off to Splash Mountain and went to the exit so we could "dog swap" and go on the ride. Obviously her dog could not go on this particular ride, although he could on many of them. The young lady at the exit said "oh you will have to get a fastpass and go through the regular line." I explained to her that due to the heat it was virtually animal abuse to stand in the sun (it was a very busy weekend day and the line was out of the building) and that we always went to the exit in the past. She said "too bad ma'am, those are the rules." I told her again politely (I was in shock at her rudeness) that some "rules" are made to bend a little especially when the health of a guide animal is at risk. She said "How do I even know she is REALLY blind? Can she prove it?"

At this point she opened the gate for a woman in a wheelchair....so obviously she WAS allowing people to bypass the regular or fastpass line. I asked her "why did you allow her in but not us?" She said "She is in a WHEELCHAIR" and rolled her eyes at me. I said "Wait a second, you want my Aunt to PROVE she is blind...well march yourself over there and tell that woman to get up and WALK!" I then asked for a ride manager IMMEDIATELY. Meanwhile the girl/castmember went on and on about how we could have just decided to put a harness on our "pet" and bring him to Disney. I have NEVER seen someone so uneducated, rude, petty or nasty and ESPECIALLY in Disney!

When the ride manager came she was very apologetic and said "We have had some issues with this castmember recently." I told the ride manager that I wanted an apology AND I wanted her to be removed from working directly with the public. The ride manager point blank said "This young lady will no longer be working with Disney, we will not accept this kind of behavior from our castmembers."

We didn't let it ruin our trip but it was very disheartening. We have never run into that issue since. We use fast passes or regular entrance on all rides that require them expect in the rare instances where the pavement is too hot for the dog. We have been graciously welcomed onto rides or "dog swap" and in several instances they have actually had a ride manager come and wait with her guide dog so we could all go on together! NOW that is Magic!!

I dont think this qualifies as strange but it does show how good people can be. My husband and I just got off the bus at DD, it was a rainy night and the streets were real wet. We crossed the street and just as we got across we heard a loud bag behind us. Some woman fell flat on her back in the middle of the street. We ran to her and her DH, she was pretty out of it cause she hit her head real hard. My DH ran to the bus to get help, I stood up to stop traffic and when the folks around us saw what I was doing they made a chain across the street to stop the traffic. Security, EMT's were out there lickity split; but that was one of best "come together" moments I have seen.

From the 2 reports about this man, I have gathered that he doesn't approach children. They come to him. And, he gives them a card, not candy, and doesn't let them sit in his lap. I bet he does know how to be safe and keep the name of Santa untarnished.

It sounds pretty benign.

Last year we watched a guy scale the Mexican temple. He was about half way up and his friends were cheering him on when we passed through Mexico. I don't know if security showed up to make him come down or if he came down on his own. It was really bizarre. Here's a picture I took. []

When were you there? We saw someone do the same thing on our trip last year. At first I thought it was a WDW performer. I wonder it it was the same time, or if some other crazy guy tried the same thing.

No not one bit he's not seeking out kids he looks like Santa and gives kids a neat experience. If he picked the kids up and put them on his lap yes or did something he shouldn't yes. Handing out a card that says you have just met the real Santa is harmless. Can't people just do something nice and not be made out to be a bad person:sad2:

:rotfl2: I remember hearing about that :)

Okay, heres a combo strange guest/great CM story.

We were going on IASW and the line stopped moving just before we were about to board. At first we didn't notice anything but then we noticed that several CMs were looking into the water right in the boat boarding area and trying to get something out of the water. There was an anxious woman in her sixties nearby on the side where you exit the boat. They had a long reacher, and boy, they did not give up. The mystery item in the water obviously caught a current and moved a few feet at one time. By this time everyone was realizing what was going on and were watching. After 20 minutes, he pulls out a small object and hands it to the woman who thanks him profusely. Everyone in line applauded. This was an awesome CM who did not give up to help this woman.

What was the mystery object? Her wedding ring! How, may I ask, do you lose your wedding ring off a boat in IASW??? Do people feel the need to take them off during a ride?

Crazy guest, great CM.
