So we've booked for a mod with ap rate as back up, but I'd really like to camp. DH is leary.(tho he loves camping :confused3 )
So my question is, if we were to camp and cancel our ap room and for some reason DH or all 3 of us decide to give up camping and try to book a room at another resort, how likely would it be that 1. we could, and 2. we'd get any sort of non rack rate?
I know it's a long shot, but has anyone received a discounted rate last minute like that?

curious. :scratchin

I wouldn't give up the room. Called CRO 3 times today and was told "no sites are available for ap rates". I know this is wrong because, well, because they usually are! I would try to get reservations at Ft. W before cancelling any other plans! I don't know when you are planning to go, but we are paying $66.00 a night from June 1 to Aug 05, before tax, without ap rates. (after tax $73.60)
As for being leary, tell your hubby that once he gets to Ft. W, he will not want to go to the parks! My husband comes down during the summer for visits and we leave him at the camper. He hates the parks but the kids love it! The only time we spend "visiting" with him is when we are sleeping because the parks are closed. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the heads up on the possibility of ap for FWCG, guess I figured they didn't offer discounts often for FW.

And I have been reading him posts from the camping thread every chance I get, :thumbsup2 next thing is to get pics of the inside of comfort stations to really push him over the edge!
