Crazy experience ordering from Target

I ordered 4 wood look blinds from Target on Sunday, and they arrived on Wednesday. I thought it was weird that they shipped them in 4 separate boxes, but I didn't really think much about it until I moved the boxes into the house. Two of the boxes were obviously too light to contain the blinds. When I opened them, two of the boxes just had a curtain rod in them! :scared1: The packing slip on the boxes all said that they contained one of the blinds.

I called Target that night and explained what had happened. The customer service rep was very nice and apologized. He said he was shipping out the two blinds I was supposed to get with expedited shipping. Today I got two boxes from Target. One was a long skinny box, and it had one of the blinds in it. The other box, however, was smaller and obviously couldn't contain what it was supposed to have in it. I opened it, and there was a blue quilt!:scared1: Again, the packing slip said it had the blinds, but, again, that wasn't the case.

I called again, and they are supposed to be sending out the blinds. I can't believe this happened twice with one order. It makes me think this must be a pretty common problem at Target. Has anybody else had any problems with them?

see what happens when they hire seasonal employees!:lmao:

hehehehehe

I have ordered all kinds of stuff from them and have never had a problem.

In fact, I ordered a gift last year and found out that sombody had already bought it for that person. I returned it to the nearest Target store, even though the item wasn't carried in stores..No problem.

Dson-in-law does 99.9% of his shopping online.. Last year he ordered his parents Christmas present from Target.. Three times it was shipped - three times it was the wrong item.. He never did receive the right item until well after Christmas..

This year he did all of his Christmas shopping elsewhere online.. Everything has arrived already (just did the shopping last weekend) and now all he has to do is wrap..

I don't know if it's the seasonal help they hire or what, but I tend to stick with the places that have always gotten my order correct the first time and have shipped it in a timely manner.. (Another online shopper here - LOL..)

Hope you get the right blinds soon.. :santa:

What did they tell you to do with the blue quilt?

They said to print out a return label and send it back through the post office. I'll do that, but I'm not going to rush right out and do it. We're moving this weekend, so that's the least of my concerns! I would like to have my blinds, though, so the old man next door can't see inside my house!

Target.com recently ended up on my poo list. I ordered the $97 TomTom 340s GPS on Thanksgiving and the transaction was approved. Two weeks later I got an email stating that the order I placed was canceled because they ran out even though they were in stock when I placed the order. Nothing was offered for my troubles even though I had missed out on two weeks of holiday deals. Come to find out that about five days before I got my email, tons of other people were getting emails offering a lower quality model for substitution at the $97. And there was no rhyme or reason with these emails - some people got the substitution unit even though they ordered AFTER other individuals who got the "sorry, Charlie" email I received. Go figure the day I got the email, the number for their Online Customer Service was disconnected. Very shady.

Crocs.com ended up on my poop list for doing something similar! I ordered the Snow White Crocs in DD4's size and 2 other pairs of shoes, but when I opened the box, it was just the 2 other pairs. I called customer service, and they told me I should have gotten an e-mail. When I told them that I got no e-mail, they didn't care! And the supervisor was a bigger jerk than the first person I got!

Won't be ordering from them again.

One year we ordered an air purifier from Boscov's. They shipped us some huge toy instead. I wondered if someone ordered a toy and got an air purifier -- they probably would have been more disappointed than we were!

I've never had a problem like that on-line. I bought a phone instore once that was crusty and yucky. ICK!
A GREAT place for blinds though is Blinds.com. Of course, now you've gottem from target but in case Target screws up again...

I ordered a TV from BestBuy.com and after 8 day, I got an email saying my order was canceled. I called their 888 number and after 90 minutes, they apologized and dropped the price for me. Less than 24 hours later, another email. This went on and on. One of the people said it wasn't in stock but I could order it and wait for the backorder to come in. I agreed. To fast forward a few days, the orders kept canceling (card was credited) and I kept re-ordering it. I figure if the website allowed me to, it shouldn't have been a big deal. So once again, it was canceled and I put in an order but my card was declined. I called and they said I bought 8 TVs. I explained the situation and all they said "Soooo...I'm not seeing where the problem is?" I said "I have a balance on my card of 5k+ and am getting NOTHING"....they asked what I wanted to do about it. So now it's a week later, I have a case number, I've spent at least 20 hours on the phone with them, I still have the charges on my card and I have no tv to show for any of it and I'm not on a backorder list. Needless to say, I don't think I will be using their online shopping ever again.

Ouch! All of these stories make me so grateful for Amazon. Always perfect and they rush to fix mistakes that the postal service makes. I think that I'll stick with them. :)

If I'm not mistaken, Target.com is run by Amazon. I think that is supposed to change sometime in the future but it hasn't yet.

I had no idea Target.com was run by Amazon. I refuse to buy from Amazon.com because they promote dog fighting, by selling dog fighting paraphenalia and dvd's. I order a ton of stuff from Target.com, does Amazon get a commission from Target? If so, I guess I won't be buying from them either.

I have this happen with Sephora and it's a pain to call and straighten it out. Same thing---the order form actually has a hand written check mark next to the items that the packer supposedly put in the box, but obviously didn't. Don't know how that happens..... just sloppy work. I have had to call them or email them several times becasue of this. It's frustrating, for sure.

I have been buying stuff from target on line for years, and have never had anything bad happen, it just sounds like an isolated incident during "rush" season!

of course..if its your order..its not as easy to be understanding about holiday season mix-ups!

I had trouble using the Delta website to book a flight and finally called Delta directly. They made my reservation but when they tried to charge my credit card it wasn't accepted!!! WTH!?
So I called my credit card company and found out that when I was wrestling online trying to book that my card was charged everytime! They were immediately able to release the "hold" on my credit card so I could book my flight and use the credit card instead of using my debit card. I always book flights online and rarely have any problem--but this was a pain!:confused3 You may want to call your credit card company to explain the issue and see what they recommend doing about the duplicate charges.

I had a problem with Discovery Store online. I ordered the Meerkat DVds for my mom they last one (saeson 3?) was a preorder and was set to come out on XXX date. Well when I get the other 2 I havea card saying that number 3 will be out on this date (2 weeks later than original) I thought nothing of it. Well that day came and went and I didn't have it, so I called oh well its actually coming out this day instead. Over a month after the first date given. Then they send us Shark Week DVD ibnstead of Meerkats. Called them back they said they'll send us what we ordered and it actually arrived a week later..so it was almost 2 months to get the DVD we ordered.

I just ordered a bunch of games from Target with their last sale. They came in two shipments and were here very quickly!! I was very impressed. Now, JC Penney -- not on my good list this year......not sure where the package is, but it's not here. Post office can't find it and JCP is out of stock on all the things that were in the package!

I never order from Target.com ~ I find their shipping charges outrageous!! Now I know it's probably to compensate for all the errors they make!! :lmao:

I ordered a couple of the new Toy Story Lego sets from Target.com last week. A few days passed, no shipping notice. Call on Friday, was told that I will get an email on Saturday to tell me when they will ship. Um no, you could probably tell me right now when they will ship. She says she doesn't know, but I won't get them before xmas like their site said I would. I was fuming. Cancelled the order and sent a complaint and they sent me a $10 credit for a future order. Too bad I will never order from them again. My sister had a similar experience with them last xmas.
