Has anyone been to the Crayola Factory in PA? We are thinking of taking a trip there soon any ideas, suggestions, comments, complaints, experiences???

Go early...
Entertainment book has coupon~USE IT!!!
Make sure to visit the store. They have some great stuff there. Don't buy their markers, crayons, paints...you can get them cheaper in Target.
Bring your camera...there are cute things to take pictures of the kids in. Also dress them in bright colors because it tends to get very crowded and you can easily spot your kids.

Here is how it is set up...
You purchase your tickets downstairs and they give you 3 coins. Then you take the elevator upstairs and proceed to the area where they show you how they make crayons and markers. One of the coins they gave you earlier is for a free packet of four crayons. Another one is for a free marker.

Next you head down a ramp to the "arts and crafts" area where they have a theme with a project for the children to make. Last summer when I went it was "Under The Sea". The kids made a sea picture. They have glass walls where the kids can draw and a little "black top" for the kids to use chalk on.

THe next area contains a little farm area where the kids pick produce and purchase it. Across from that there is another art project usually making a book. They paint the cover...then add pages. There is also a puppet area.

There are a few other sections before you get to the final one which is the clay magic. This is where you use your final token. They give the kids a "Marshmallow" sample to mold and shape into different things.

All the things you make you get to take home. They give you a bag to put everything in.

The only place to eat is a McDonald's. The lines get long...so go early there as well. Make sure the kids wash their hands which at this point are probably pretty gross.

I think that covers it all. I've been going there every summer for the past 6 years. COuld you tell???

We went once and won't be going back. It just seemed like a waste of money to me, but that is only my opinion! Give it a try... if you don't like it, don't go back, but at least you'll know one way or the other.;)
