Boy- did I just have a crabby CM. I don't think he wants to be working on a Saturday. I'm staying at the WL at the end of January and wanted to add a room request to my reservation, plus I needed to order my tickets. I was very polite and asked him if I can add a request to my reservation. I asked to add " North Wing, 4th or 5th floor, overlooking the MK". After he was done I then asked him if he could repeat what he entered into the system. He said "North Wing", that's all he can enter into the computer. That there wasn't enough space to add anything else? Finally he said he'd try one more way to enter it and said "o.k this is what I entered "north wing, upper floor, MK view". I was afaird to say anything more that he might bite my head off, but I really wanted him to say 4th or 5th floor because I really don't want the 6th floor because they have the enclosed dormer style balconies versus an open balcony. Am I being to picky if I try calling back on Monday and asking another CM to change the wording to say 4th or 5th floor versus upper floor? I know that it's only a request anyway and that I'm not guarenteed anything.

When you call back just ask for the floors you want first. After they add it ask them to read back all of your requests to see if he added everything else. Less confusion.

I would also prioritize my list with want I want the most first. I was told this by a CM because they may not be able to grant all of your requests.

Or you could have had the CM I talked to when trying to add a request to my BW ressie. She said "you can add any request you would like, but noone pays attention to them." She suggested I just make my request upon arrival.

I had a less than helpful CM this morning too. I'll just call back on Monday and hopefully get someone more knowledgable. Maybe they don't make the good ones work on the weekends!

I hate to disagree with the CM you had because each time I have made a request on my reservation they have it on file when I check in...in fact this last trip when I checked it the CM let me know that my request of a room in the Jazz section of the ASMU had been met, and I had not said a thing while I was checking in.

when i dont get what i want i just hang up & call again. takes more time but i've saved hundreds of dollars this way when booking & gotten almost all my requests....also remember that survery after the call i'd be sure to stay on for that & rate the CM accordingly

I'm guessing the 'crabby' observation is based on his tone of voice?

Some possibilities (not excuses, just possibilities):
- The Guest with whom he spoke immediately before you was rude to him, and his resulting attitude continued into your call.
- His computer really WAS causing problems and not letting him enter more than 'north wing' originally, and his crabbiness was actually frustration with the computer.
- Something had just happened at work (a reprimand, an announcement about a policy change) that carried over into your call.

By the way, the solid balconies are on the Concierge floor, so if you aren't staying Club Level, you don't have to worry about getting one.

So what part of WL can you get the MK view from? We have a reservation for a Woods View room at the end of April for Dh's 40th birthday. But if we could get a view of the MK from our balcony that would be fantastic!!!

So if someone could give me a hint as to what I should say when I call the CM for the request. Also, do you talk to the resort directly or do you call the Disney reservations number?

Thanks!!!

Just call back and talk to someone else. They can put a request in for whatever you want.

I would call and ask what is on there now and then add what you want. It's their job to enter what you say so don't worry about it.

When I called twice in one day last week, (Jan1 I think). The CMs were almost overly nice:rotfl2: . Very Disney to say the least. I made sure to do the survey at the end of the call. Sounds like yours wasn't having a great day. I'd call back and check.

I saw a post somewhere that mentioned calling or faxing the resort 3-4 days prior to arrival with your room requests. that's what we plan to do in july when we go.

I called back today and had a very nice CM who put the request in as "North wing, 4th or 5th floor, MK view".

Thanks for letting me vent earlier today!!

I think you should make them write it in stone. On my last trip in Dec 2007, I had requested a HA roll-in shower for my mom and when I called to confirm my ressie, they said I never requested that and that is a request that has to go through a special dept. Well, needless to say I didn't get what I had requested on more than one occassion and it made for a less than special trip. From now on, I will call a million times to make sure my request is met. I hate being called a liar and by Disney none the less.

For something like a handicapped accesable room, you DO need to go thru a special department, if you want to be sure that is what you get. If you just go thru normal resrvations, no requests are guaranteed. It is too bad the reservationist didn't tell you that. Otherwise requests are just requests.

That is the problem, the special dept told me I should make them through the regular ressie line and the CM's would put me on hold and call them and told me that the info was added and it was in fact not added. I haven't had a problem before this one, so I don't really know how it happened this time. I won't trust them next time. You know when I called about my upcoming ressie, it was right and the one that the AAA agent made was right as well, so I think I just got a bunch of stupid CM's.

We had a solid balcony non-concierge on the 6th floor, north wing. The room was an inner courtyard view.
