Cranberry & Pineapple Continued.....Again.

Bye Cristi, will miss you tons. Have a great trip. That job is perfect for a first job!

Chris is such a gentleman. Can you believe how hot he must have been pressed against all that glass?!

Wow, that was 5 years ago and more expensive.

I have looked into a cruise with Disney but they are still so expensive. A 3 day cruise is over $500 per person. I can go on 2 cruises with Carnival or RCI for that amount. I know it is the Disney experience but still where does everyone get the good deals????

Hey I came home yesterday and I cleaned 2 bathrooms, did a couple of loads of laundry and straightened up the house.

Today, I took Erik to Driver's Ed and then Mac and I went to look for Cooper some clothes. Walmart had marked down their doggie clothes. We had bought some things this weekend and then all was marked down on Monday. We had to do some returning and re-purchasing. We wound up only paying $15 for 26 outfits, 4 bandanas, 1 mat and a collar. We have 3 outfits to take back. That should be a little over $10 refund. Two out of the 3 outfits we paid full price for and the other is a markdown but was too small. Since things were marked down so much I bought several outfits for my two poodles. Luck got 3 bandanas, 1 tank and a winter "jacket". Lulu got so much it is not even funny. lol I bet I have over 10 outfits for her. Two are winter jackets and 2 winter dresses. I have to say our puppies are well dressed now. lol

I had an eye dr appointment today. Jeff added us to his insurance so I decided to get some glasses. I do not need them but I kept on telling the doctor last year that I would like to see the TV small print a bit better. So with the new insurance I get frames up to $150 free and the lenses are free. But the lady that helped me is not very knowledgable and she did not give me the better lenses that my insurance will pay for. I tried to question her and she told me my insurance was not the same as my sons. Erik had his appointment today as well. The other lady helped him pick out glasses and he got the correct lenses. So the two ladies were fussing about whether Erik got the better lenses and the one that helped me said my insurance was different. I have no clue how the crap my is different since it is thru my husband's policy and I do not have a different policy. I am not really happy about this but when I quesitoned her she was hateful and I just decided to leave it alone. I know I should have fussed a bit but I figured I am only getting them for the fact they are free not to really use. Heck I should have gotten a nice pair of sunglasses instead! I am going to do that next summer. They had some awesome sunglasses. They even have Oakleys and I sat on mine a few years ago and broke them. I loved my gold Oakleys. They are like $250 to replace and I just do not see doing that.

My dad was here after that. I came home and slept for one hour and 40 minutes. I have never slept like that before during the day. lol

Cristi hope you have a great time.

Marcie are you packed?

Selena, aren't you the bargain shopper!! Great deals for the puppies! It certainly doesn't make any sense about your policy being different than the kids. That lady needs to get a new job!

Hey all I am on my way to bed, but I had to pop on for a minute

Heidi, I just wanted to let you know that my neighbor's Realtor is having an open house at their house on this Saturday the 20th from noon-3pm (I think that is when it ends).

Bye everyone. See you when I get back at the end of the month.

Selena - great deals for the puppies. That is crazy that insurance would be different for you, I wonder how she even rationalized that in her head.

Cristi - thanks for the heads up, I will be down at the campground but maybe Chris can make it over there.

Grocery shopping check
Dinner started check
House straightened up check
Laundry sorted check
Load of laundry going check
Downstairs swept check
Lunch fixed and ate and cleaned up check
Yard being mowed check

Now I have to mop, dust and vaccum.

Tomorrow we have appointments for our toes and then I have 3 errands to run.

I am almost done for my weekend chores.

Now the kids have to clean up the upstairs. That is their domain. They are responsible for that area.

Selena - Dang, you have been busy and quite productive today! Way to go!

Day 4 – June 1 Day at sea

Like I said before, we didn’t do much on this day. We ordered room service and the girls loved having breakfast in bed. The girls had become good friends with one of the girls of the family we sat with during the hypnotist show. They were pretty much inseparable for the remainder of the trip. The 3 girls went swimming up at the Goofy pool and I even had some time to relax at the adult pool. After pool time, the 3 girls wanted to hang out in our room and watch TV. Tonight was Formal night and we didn’t pack any formal clothes so we decided to try Topsider’s for dinner. Their dinner is not a buffet, but you are seated and get to choose from a menu on what you want to eat. Our friends were headed to Palo for dinner so we asked if their DD wanted to join us for dinner. The answer was yes and all 3 girls were excited that they get to eat together. The dinner was excellent, Chris really enjoyed his steak and I enjoyed my pasta. We kind of had to rush through dinner because the 3 girls wanted to watch the ventriloquist that was starting so we skipped dessert. We watched the Golden Mickey’s and then the girls decided to shop after the show, after shopping it was off to bed. (I warned you there wasn’t much to report on.)

Okay, I have to add one pic:

Day 5 – June 2 Grand Cayman

IMG_0226.jpg

IMG_0211.jpg

When I told the girls what our excursion was for Grand Cayman, they were less than thrilled. I booked an excursion on our own (Fat Fish) to take jet ski’s to Stingray City. They were so afraid to go because of the death of the crocodile hunter, but being the evil step mom I am, I made them go anyway! Our meeting time was early, 8:00am. We were scheduled to be in Grand Cayman at 7:30 so I was afraid we would be late. We woke the girls up early for breakfast and then headed to the Buena Vista theatre to wait to be tendered. We got there at about 7:20 and by 7:45 we were the first group off the ship and onto the tender boats.
IMG_0141.jpg

A short walk to the Hard Rock and we met up with our group, turns out another Disboard family booked the same excursion (they booked the boat because they had a younger little boy) so it was nice to “know” someone just in case something happened! We took a short drive to where the jet ski’s and boat were waiting for us. Quickly picked our jet ski, packed our snorkel gear, put on our life jackets and off we went. Amanda went with Chris and Emily came with me.

First stop on jet ski tour – Sting Ray City
IMG_0149.jpg

Chris was the first to jump off and I was next. While Chris was begging Amanda to jump in and I was trying to also convince Emily to get in. It didn’t take Emily much convincing IF we let her stay on our back:

IMG_0166.jpg

IMG_0146.jpg

There was no convincing Amanda, which surprised me since she is our adventurous and outgoing one. This is where she stayed:
IMG_0167.jpg

Now the stingrays scared the heck out of me. I didn’t realize how massive they were. They would swim around you and touch you and once they found out you had food, they would all surround you and climb up your back. That totally freaked me out and from then on managed to keep my distance!

Our guide teaching us how to hold the stingray:

(there is a water drop that makes it fuzzy so I am hoping I can figure out how to get that away somehow)

More stingrays underwater:

It was great to have a one on one tour with Fat Fish. Looking at all the boats with tons of people huddled around their guide, we were away from the crowd and got our very own experience. There was a total of 12 people with us. I would definitely recommend Fat fish.

After about 30 minutes there, it was time to leave Stingray City and back on the jet ski’s. This is Amanda’s only time she actually made it into the water at Grand Cayman. You see, the girls were fighting over whose turn it was to ride with me and making a big scene. Well it was Amanda’s turn and Emily was already sitting on my jet ski so Chris carried Amanda over to mine and had both girls sitting on my jet ski.
IMG_0148.jpg

Amanda lost her balance and fell off the jet ski into the water. Pure panick, I have never seen her freak out like that before. Chris managed to hold it together while both girls where climbing all over him and having a few stingrays swim between his legs while maintaining his balance. We tease her about the only time she got in the water to swim with the stingrays.

Finally everything called down and we were on to our snorkeling spot out in the middle of nowhere and no one around. It was awesome. Both girls did not want to go, so our guide stayed back with the girls. The girls loved the jet ski’s. I came back a little later and hung around in the water and Emily jumped in with me and swam around once I reassured her there were no stingrays, jelly fish, fish, or reefs.

Our time was up so we went back and headed for the ship. We get back on the jet ski’s and both girls want to ride with me, none of them want to ride with him because they said he was going to fast and they wanted to be with me. So I took both girls on my jet ski, definitely a lot harder to drive with 3 people. The waves were a little more rough on the way back so we were catching more air. Emily was behind me and Amanda behind her. Every time we hit a wave Amanda must have held tightly on to Emily because then Emily would panic and grab on to me tighter and when doing that she would accidentally yank the emergency clip and the jet ski would die. After about 10 times of this happening, thankfully the boat pulled up next to us and took both girls in! Chris wanted to take one of the girls after about the 5th time of it happening but I didn’t want to deal with the fight of who got to ride with me so I was going to keep trying.

We decided to stop and eat somewhere, Chris and I wanted something local and authentic but the girls weren’t buying into that so we ended up having the most expensive lunch of our trip, $100 for 4 people and all we did was get drinks and an entrée. I had fish and chips and the fish was excellent and they had the best fries ever, but still not worth $100. I believe the name of the restaurant was Breezes.

Some very tired girls waiting for lunch:

Wow look, I did end up in some pictures:
IMG_0213.jpg

We made it to dinner that night. Our poor serving team probably thought we ditched them and they were se excited to see us show up! We told them we didn’t show up because we didn’t have formal clothes and they insisted we show up for every night even if we don’t meet the dress attire. Did I mention they were awesome?

After dinner we missed the show because the 3 girls wanted to see Stitch and Stitch’s appearance was for 15 minutes in the middle of the show. Chris took the girls to see stitch and pose with the other characters while I went up to the hot tub. My body was so sore, probably from bouncing around on the jet ski’s and carrying Emily around the stingrays, so I couldn’t wait to jump in and relax. I was alone in the hot tub for awhile and then the Promenade Lounge performer jumped in with me. He must have thought I was a dumb blond after our conversation!

Him: What department do you work in?
Me: Confused, Department?
Him: Ya, what department
Me: Department of Interior
Him: Oh I thought you were a dancer here on the ship.

I felt like such an idiot, but it’s true I work for the Department of Interior! Thankfully, Chris came and saved me and I left with him! The girls went back to our room to play and when we got back to the room we all went to bed.

Weird night last night; I called 911 for the first time in my life. A lady driving down the street that runs along next to our house took out two fences and a fire hydrant around 9pm. Don't know if she was drinking, on drugs, texting or something else. Tammy talked to her and she didn't seem that out of it, just dazed from the crash, but she wasn't injured. We hear people driving like idiots down that street a lot and expect to hear a crash, but it is highly unusual to have it actually happen.

Great day. Jeff went fishing with his dad. It was a last minute thing. E was suppose to go but he woke up with a tummy ache. Mac and I had our toes down. Heidi I have the flowers I had last year. Mac got the same thing but she has lime green as her base. It is the opposite of mine. I also bought a purse. I just could not resist. I am not a big purse person but this one is mid size and shiny black not patent and has whtie and black circles all over it. I thought it perfect for putting everything in for mine and Mac's cruise in August.

Then I went to tan. There were 2 others ahead of me for the same one so I ran to buy Jeff's some cigars for Father's Day. I hate smoking but he smokes. It drives me nuts but we did finally make a deal. He would give up cigarettes and only smoke a couple of cigars a week. I do feel guilty that I bought him some though.

Then I ran back to tan. Still had to wait over 20 minutes. I am not a very patient person. lol Then Mac and I came home. I took a nap and then took Mac to work. Her air conidtioning is broken in her car. She has been driving mine this week but Jeff had my car and I had his work car. We pay to have personal usage so I was using the company car. Yes, I am cheap and gas is getting expensive again. lol

I realized I did not have everything for lunch tomorrow so I had to run back out to the grocery store. I am having hamburgers and hotdogs. I am also making baked beans, potato salad, deviled eggs and 2 strawberry pies. I have everything done but the deviled eggs. I also have a cantaloupe.

I then decide to weed and spray posion on the weeds in all my flower beds. The temp is close to 100 and I think I was stupid. Thank goodness I was hydrated. Last year I almost had a heat stroke doing this. I came in and was soaking wet. Took my shower and made myself a Sweet Tea Vodka. Has anyone had this yet? It is a southern thing. They sale Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. I mixed it with water and lemons. Tastes just like sweet tea. OK I live in the south but I am not a huge sweet tea drinker.

Jeff just walked in with dinner. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Jrsy - Glad no one was hurt, but how scary.

Selena - sounds like a nice weekend. I love how your toes are done, I wish I could find someone here to do that for me. Sweet Tea, Oh how I love Sweet Tea! I cannot get enough of it when I am in Florida!

Marcie - Vegas!!!!!!

I hope Cristi is having a great time in DC.

Tyler was suppose to get his staples out Saturday, but then the doctor looked at it and moved it later. He then had a bad seizure and hit his head on the concrete and had a big goose egg on his forehead. Poor guy, I hate seeing him like this. He barely talked all weekend.

Hey from Vegas! I guess the time change is effecting me, it's 8 and I'm awake since it's 10 my time. The weather is just beautiful! A few degrees hotter then my house but with no humidity it feels cooler! We didn't do much last night since we were all tired from traveling. We ate at Margarittaville and had drinks. Today we are eating at dick's last resort and going to see Love. I love this city.
I wonder if Cristi and I were at the houston airport at the same time.

Heidi, funny that you mentioned Tyler. I was going to ask if you have been able to see Tyler and Joey yet.

Marcie, I was also thinking about you and wondering how Las Vegas is doing.

Great Monday here. The sun is out but there is a nice breeze. Probably somewhere in the 80's. I have my windows open airing out my house. It was nasty gross smelling.

I have done a lot but yet it does not look like I have done anything. lol Mac and I cleaned house while E was at Driver's Ed. I have laundry going. Sometimes I feel like all I do is laundry. I did laundry on Friday and Saturday and then today I have already completed 3 loads with towels in drying (4th) and more towels in washing (5th) and I have 2 more loads to do!!! Of course I am also doing all the sheets so that was 3 loads.
Mac vaccumed the screen in porch. I swept outside because E mowed yesterday. Our lawn mower broke a belt and it was a week and half since I lawn was mowed so E had to mow it twice in 3 days. Mac swept inside and cleaned my glass doors. Her drain in her shower was clogged so I worked on that and fixed it. I also went thru more yard sale stuff. I fixed lunch. I had sliced chicken, homemade roasted red peppers, tomato and romaine lettuce w/garlic aoli mayo on a whole wheat ciabatta. Yummy.

I am trying to diet. I have really gained some weight since coming home from Punta Cana. Didn't gain it there but have since I have been home. Those hot dogs, hamburgers and pancakes add up. lol More like potato chips and not the hot dogs and hamburgers.

I have exercised but I did run up and down the stairs as I was cleaning and taking yard sale stuff up. lol I still need to walk at least 15 minutes though.

Our poodle, Luck, have been a butt head. He has been marking places in the house. I think it is places the puppy has had accidents but now Luck is in trouble and in time out. I am not happy at all with him. I have been cleaning my carpet constantly because of it. Yikes.

Selena, I am tired just reading everything you have been doing.

Heidi, Richard came up with the idea that Tyler's bad weekend could be due to the gel the hair stylist used. Makes sense to me.

Marcie, I have never heard anyone that thought the weather in Vegas was ok but the way you explained it makes sense for YOU! Bet I would be dying if I was there with you.

Sandy when we were in Las Vegas a couple of years ago, it was during their heat wave and besides it feeling blistering in the sun I did not think it really felt any warmer than NC. Of course that is due to the humdity here. We have very thick humid summers.

Poor Tyler. Do you guys have a gel now that he can use on the list? If so you may want to take it next time the little tyke has a hair cut. At least that way you might can rule that out.

You have no reason to feel tired. Remember I have a hard time sitting still. I have my house almost as clean as I am going to get it. I do need to still do the baseboards and I need to clean out one more closet and then I have to tackle the garage and the attic. Those I am dreading due to how hot it will be to do it. Next week we have vacation so I will have lots to do then. We are going to Maryland and to Atlanta. To opposite directions which will be loads of driving. Eight hours to Maryland. We are having our Crabfeast like we did last year at my friends house. It will be several of us who cruise together meeting in Maryland.

We are taking E to a Braves game on July 1st and will be home the next day. We are going to Carowinds a few days too. I would really love to go to the zoo. I might have to talk Jeff into that one. He is not a big zoo person. I love the zoo. We have a great one in NC. It is only about 45 minutes from us.

By the first week in July I will start getting board. I guess I will do my painting then. Jeff is not getting my paint out so I might have to go buy new paint. I know I need new brushes.

As I said it is hard for me to be still. Once I run out of things to do I will get lazy. That is what happens to me when I run out of stuff to do.

Forgot to add...Jeff is frying the fish he caught on Saturday. That will ruin my diet for today but I have lost a pound. lol
