Sandy... my only sister Heidi... is in Lincoln, Nebraska where my DH is right now. My family used to live in Longmont, Co. Dad died in Longmont last year 4 months before my mom (who lived in Vegas until she got sick and then my sister and I moved her out to Nebraska... now THAT is a story....) My ex husbands sister lives in Mead.... I am great friends with not only my ex, but his family. In fact, aside from my sister.... my "ex" family is my ONLY family. (Aside from my "Dis" family of course).
OK... I was going to forget the story, but can't. When my mom got sick with cancer, I flew to Vegas and my sister flew there from Lincoln, to pack my moms stuff and move it to Lincoln where my mom would go a month later. I drove the 21(?) ft U-Haul and towed her Toyota behind. We did not even get out of Vegas that morning when the trailer blew a tire. We waited in the Vegas heat for hours waiting for help. I invented this game where I took pieces of blown tires, made circles out of them and put a stick in the ground and played horsehoes... we were tanning for a biot, but that got old quick!!!!
As we were waiting, we saw a casino sign. So.... finally after the tire got fixed and we were on the road, we decided heck.... lets stop at the casino and play.... we deserved it. WELL.... we started out early afternoon and when we left (after winning hundreds of dollars!!!!! I think it was 7 to be exact) it was dark and we had to walk all the way across the parking lot (because I did not know how to turn the thing around!!!!). We were scared to death since we were so loud and excited in the casino, that people were watching us and going to mug us. THAT was the beginning of the trip!!!! Needless to say... it was a very memorable one!!!!
