Cranberry or Pineapple??

Selena - What part of the Bahamas are you going to? Sounds like fun and you are right that atleast it's a vacation!!!!! As long as there is sun and a beach I would be good to go. I hope you have a great vacation. Do you have anything planned on what you are going to do there?

Marcie - I am not sure if you read this yet but:

A couple of updates. CC was apparantly hit fairly hard by the hurricane. The netting is down on the family beach so the "swim" part of the family beach is closed. The adult beach is now open to all people. Not ideal for DW and I, but I suppose they had to do something. There are also a few shore excursions that were damaged. Firstly, the stingrays are no-more. The netting came down and all the stingrays have escaped. This is no joke. DW and I were very upset about this but the stingrays are gone. Our money has already been refunded so this is definitely real. There were a few other boats that were damaged as well. I know banana boats and parasailing are in operation still, however some boat tours were damaged.

Good morning everyone! I am at work on very little sleep. I stayed up late watching the Astros, then at 4:30 am my Mother in law called saying she needed help with my Father in law. So Dane went over there and called 911. I just talked to him and he told me he is okay, they think he had a reaction to the pain medicine they gave him for his leg. They are looking into his leg more today too to see if he needs surgery. Dane says enough is enough, they are not going to live in that motor home. My brother in law has a big house with 4 bedrooms and no kids and his wife does not work, so Dane says they need to go stay with them a while. That does make sense. We both work and couldn't tend to them and we don't have a free bedroom. But, they live in Dallas so I don't know what's going to happen. Dane says they need to worry about rebuilding when they get well, not now. I am so stressed. The last time my phone rang that early was the day my Dad died. I sure hope his parents can survive this. His Mom is not doing the greatest either since she fell and broke her ankle. She says her hip is messed up and has been spending most of her time in bed. I am thinking she is just so shocked and depressed from losing her house that she can't get up. Okay I better get some work done. Thank you for letting me vent.

I am just a wonderin......how in the world, did a thread who started out just asking if there was pineapple juice or cranberry juice....is now a gazillion posts later???????


Was there confusion on the cranberry/pineapple juice???? Was there a need for deep analysis and chemical testing on said juice???? Did we have to wait for each poster to physically get on ship and report to one another?????

Well, you know...juice can be a very delicate, complicated matter. We are just making sure we understand the juice completely. Hehe, you are welcome to join in on the testing. Pull up a chair and stay awhile.

Just wanted to give an update. I found out my father in law had a mild stroke. It wasn't a reaction to the medicine. So they have admitted him into the hospital. They said he will be confused for a while. I am going to go to the hospital at lunch and find out more.

Marcie, I am so very sorry to read everything about your inlaws. Gosh, it is so sad. Wow, I just don't even know what to say. Prayers and pixie dust to them and your family.

Heidi, that is sad about CC. I sure was wondering about it. Can't imagine pretty much everyone on the boat at the adult beach. And then the stingrays.....

Selena, I think it is great that you are getting away to the Bahamas. I know you will have a fabulous time. Thank you soooo much for sending my friend a card. If you forget or too busy having fun don't sweat it. A card about getting old is very appropriate. Let me know what I owe you.

Sometimes I wish we could all meet in person. With all of you and the trouble you have been having I would love to give each one of you a big hug. This is the best I can do.

Would any of you like to do a secret santa gift for Christmas? Make a $10 or $15 limit lets say. I am willing to draw names. We could just enclose our name on the gift.

Well this thread started all because of Sandy wanting to know about juices that are offered on the ship...then the alcolohic that I am jumped right on the juices she was asking aobut becasue they are some of the ones I use to mix drinks with. Then we all got to be friends and it has gone from there....


Secret Santa is an excellent idea!! Count me and I am game. Can email address and the such but not sure how to go about it Sandy. You will need someone to draw for us and let them pm all of us and let us know whose name we have...right???

Poor Marcie. I am so sorry about your FIL. I will put him on my prayer list. I hope they gave him the meds in time to help!! I think Dane's idea of them going to Dallas is a good one. They would be with someone who can watch after them a little better than you guys can right now.

We are going to Viva Wyndham reosrt in Freeport. I do not like Nassau so we chose Freeport. We went there about 8 years ago, on our 5th anniversary and had a great time. We did not stay at the Wyndhm but the hotel/resort we stayed at then is no more.

I just found out they have some Wilma damage. Which the travel agent forgot to inform me of!!! Not too happy right now about that. However, the damage is suppose to be limited to landscaping and the such. Supposely everything else is fine per a web site I found. I am in the process of trying to get someone on the phone now to make sure. I am so upset!! The weather is suppose to be in the high 70's to the mid 80's. Otherwise we are really excited.

Poor Marcie on the stingray encounter at CC. I did not realize how bad it was except in Cancun. Not to sound bad but that is the place my mind has been on lately. I did not even check on anything but Karen as far as damage to the US or elsewhere...such as the Bahamas. SOunds like CC must have gotten in pretty bad. But remember you go soon and I bet the predator netting will be back up by then. I doubt the stingray will be up. But you never know.....

Well guys I have to get 3 kids ready for Trunk or Treat. I will check on you tomorrow. Sandy I pmed you. I will buy a card tomorrow but try to pm me by 12:00 EST tomorrow. I am leaving work early and will do my last minute shopping and then come home and pack. I have not donw that yet!!! If I do not hear from you I will just purchase a silly card or maybe one about being old....

Selena, trunk or treat is such a cool idea! Wish that was around for my kids. We took them to the mall and the stores handed out candy. Mostly jolly rancher that kids shouldn't have because of the choke factor. Thanks so much for helping me with the birthday card. Either a silly card or "getting old" card would be perfect. Guess I better go luggage shopping for sure if I need to fit you in!!

As far as Secret Santa, I will volunteer to pm everyone with their name and address. It is ok with me if it isn't a secret for me. It will still be fun. I will need everyone to send me their address via pm or email. We could have a theme like Christmas ornament or let it just be anything. What do you think? What dollar limit is best for everyone?

Selena I was thinking the same thing that by the time I get to CC they will have fixed some of the damage. I am not letting it upset me today. I am sure no matter what we do we will still have fun.

I never thought I would become such good friends with a bunch of funky monkeys when I first read about juice.
