The strangest gift that I received was a gun cleaning kit...I don't own a gun!

My favorite may be the Jack Skellington martini glasses. May be time for a dirty Texas martini (not to be confused with a Dirty Texas Marcie).

Hi guys,

Speaking of old lady robes. If anyone wants one I can ship one to you :rotfl2: for free. Our friend, Louise, that just passed away has several new ones. I have never in my life seen so many clothes. In two closets, in dressers, under the bed, in moving box closets.

Believe it or not, I have never watched one episode of Desperate Housewifes. I did get a set of Little House on the Prairie DVDs. I know I am strange but I love all the family type movies. On TV, I love 7th Heaven.

Selena, I wish I went to YOUR Kohls for returns. OMG, I waited in line for probably a half hour today. I LOVE getting dishes from people that have passed away. Whenever you use them you think of them. By the way Heidi. We still have Grandma Hansons dishes for you.

Karen, your frame mat sounds really cool. Did he make it? I have heard of a tip to bring your own mat and have it autographed. I always think about doing it but never have.

Marcie, a few years ago my DH put on a new roof on our house and swears never to do it again. I can't tell you how bad he blistered his rear end from the heat. Be careful if you do it.

JrsyBoy, I was going to use my choc fountain for the first time on Christmas Eve. We washed all the parts and put it together and then realized they didn't include the electric cord. Talk about a bummer! How bad was it to wash? I didn't know that Sam's Club has a big block of Ghiardelli choc. Good to know. I bought a big bag of Toll House choc chips to use at Sam's Club.

My Christmas was an emotional roller coaster just like I had imagined. I woke up crying because it was the first time we had Christmas in 25 years without waking up to kids. Then, of course I thought of everyone that had passed and was gone. Got over that, went to my dd's house and teared up when she opened Heidi's ornament. It just kept going!

Better get going. Suppertime.

:rotfl2: One time Dane's Mom wanted to buy me a robe or pjs or something for Christmas and Dane told her don't you dare buy her anything old looking.

I told Jeff I think my mom is in denial. I wonder if she thinks we adopted Mac and E?

Jrsy you are too funny. You honestly got a gun cleaning kit and you do not own a gun? How bought you that one?

What is in a Dirty Texas Martini? Does it have the blue chesse olive?

Marcie I honestly do not know what would be worse her buying what she did or a nicer one. Not sure if Jeff's mind wants to think about me in something sexy that my mom picked out. Gross!!

I was sitting at work today and it hit me that my DHs annual company retreat is usually the first few days of August. So I look back at the last 2 years calendar and it was Aug 2 & 3 both years. Our trip is July 29 - Aug 5th. So when I got home I asked Dane if by chance his retreat was going to be the same time this year and he said OMG, he wasn't sure of the date but it's already scheduled. And, he agreed that it usually is that week every year. He says he won't be able to find out for sure until after the holidays because all of the secretaries are off. So now I don't know what is going to happen. If we move it, I am thinking we are going to move it to July 15th. 2 weeks before, because if we only move it 1 week then he would be rushing home to leave for the retreat, which is usually in Mississippi. I really want a specific stateroom and early dining. Right now that stateroom is open on the website. I think I may call my TA tomorrow for a quote to see about moving it. I am stressing now :confused3 which drives my DH crazy LOL :rotfl2: I just want to hurry up and buy air tickets and reserve my room at the resort before but I can't do any of this if we are not sure the date.

Poor Marcie. Decisions are always hard for me. I have a fantastic idea. Change to the 10 day Wonder in Sept and go with us!!!!

JrsyBoy, how funny about the gun cleaning gift. We don't own a gun either and people think we are weird! With the death of our friend in Arvada and being executor of the will we have to figure out how to ship guns to Idaho. Dirty Texas martini??? Do tell.

Jrsy Boy - isn't a dirty texas martini with a jalapeno?

Marcie - my mom had a wonderful idea, book September 7th for the 10 days cruise!!!!

Now hey guys, I asked for a warm SOFT robe for Christmas and my boyfriend bought it for me (really my mom bought it for him to give to me). I love it. They got it from Bath and Body works, it is like a spa robe.

My boyfriend's mom did give me a gift card to Victoria Secrets!!!! When I was talking to her she said "I hope you enjoy on er uh ah whatever you choose to buy".

I love Victoria Secrets, that's a nice gift. I also love those robes at Bath N Body. I do have a spa like robe myself. My DH bought it for me one year for Christmas so I guess it's okay with him :rotfl:

You don't know how tempting it is to book the 10 day with y'all. The price is cheaper then my 7 day in July. But, there's 2 reasons I can't. :confused3 There's a big IRS deadline Sept 15th and we aren't allowed to take vacation from Sept 1 - the 15th. (Too bad it didn't start on the 16th. The other reason is that Aerial would miss too much school. Of course, she does go to private school and it would be possible to do, but I couldn't take off the vacation anyway.

The saddest part is, I can't take a big vacation in 2007 because we have to move by 2008. Our goal since Aerial was 4 is to be out of our house by 2008 and in a better location for her to go to a good high school. But, once we are in the new house, I will be booking another trip. :rotfl:

A drink with jalapenos. Weird!

Okay I know I'm a dirty Texas Marcie but I love jalapenos. :rotfl: I would be willing to try a drink with them.

So would my hubby. I would be willing to take a sip but that's about it. Sorry it wouldn't work out for you to come with us. We would have had a blast "sampling" drinks. :rotfl2:

Marcie... if you would drink a pumpkintini... I have no doubt you would try a tini with jalepenos.... :rotfl2:
Sandy... not much different than having a drink with a green olive!

Was there supposed to be a cord and it just wasn't packed or is it something you need to get separately? Crazy... We got the Rival model because all the parts (other than the base) are dishwasher safe, so it cleaned up pretty easily even with all the chocolate solidified and crusted on (mmm, chocolate crust). The block of Ghiardelli may just be a seasonal thing.

I honestly got a gun cleaning kit from a friend who assumed that I owned a gun because I go on a "hunting" trip to Nebraska with my father-in-law every November. We do actually hunt, but we borrow guns from his brother. I don't care so much about the hunting (which is why I put it in quotes) but I really enjoy the cheap beer and huge slabs of beef they serve in town.

As I learned to make them, a Dirty Texas Martini has a jalapeno stuffed olive and a bit of the brine (to make it dirty).

Ed's Cave Creek Chili Beer has been around for a while and comes with a jalapeno in the bottle. This year at the Great American Beer Festival, Ed's had hard lemonade with a jalapeno in the bottle, too. I liked it but my SIL didn't.

Choc makes me happy too :flower:

I've been sitting here wondering what I'm going to make for New Years. I'm leaning towards BBC's. But you know mudslides are good too. Any suggestions? I need to get to a liquor store LOL.

I'm leaning towards the mudslide number 2. Do you think malibu rum would be good in it?

I think I would choose #2, but I do not like vodka so I would put Rum in it. I don't think Malibu would takste very well in it. I think the coconut flavor would taste a little strange in that drink.
