Jrsy awesome pictures!!

Marcie how are you doing? Yuck on the varmits running around!! My friend whose mom lives in Florida when Faye hit she said they had problems with the water mocassins.

Hey everyone else.

I have not been posting much due to not having a power cord for my laptop. The one Best Buy is shipping is suppose to be here on Monday!! I miss my laptop.

The desktop had all kinds of viruses on it and it took me about 6 hours Thursday evening of running various scans to get this ole computer working again. The kids go to games and Myspace and all kinds of crap was on the computer. I removed 19 Trojan Virsues and a bunch of adware and malware.

Friday at work our computers were down!!! I went nuts all day long. I am so behind on my data entry now. I am going to stay late on Monday and do my work and ask for Comp Time.

We cancelled Mac's bday cruise due to some very poor choices she has made lately. Right before Jeff left we found she was not going to tutoring and she had been telling us. Instead she was spending time with her boyfriend. They were at school the whole time but still we do not like that they were found by a teacher being too close and friendly!! I fought with Jeff over cancelling the cruise and he told me I could hang tight on it but if she lied anymore it was gone. Well I caught her in another lie this week. I cancelled her cruise. It killed me to do it but I have to teach her that she has consequences for her actions. It is so tough being a good/bad parent.

Jeff and decided since we cancelled her cruise to change our March cruise from a 5 day to a 7 day cruise. Now we are cruising on the Carnival Glory out of PC for 7 days.

I have never been to St Martin/St Marteen. I know some of you have so please give me any information possible. We have been to St Thomas and Antigua but not St. Martin.

I think at St Thomas we are going to go to Magean (sp) Bay. We have gone to Sapphire Beach on a wonderful island tour and loved it there but I think I want to go to a different beach.

Just wanted to do a stop by for a few. Hope all is well with everyone.

Selena, it is rough being a good parent but it will pay off in the end. I promise. Our desktop is acting up and probably the hard drive. Not good. Thank goodness we bought a laptop a month or so ago! I know what it's like having computer problems.

Not a pro on St Maarten. Been there twice. Can't even remember the name of the beach we went to in 2002. What did we do there Heidi on the ten day?

We did the Rhino Rider tour and it was awesome!! I loved it. Selena, you and Jeff would have a lot of fun with the Rhino Riders. Chris and I hit a wave so hard that we got major air and got the engine out of the water, it was such a blast.

Selena - It's good that you are sticking to your word. It must have been very hard on you to take that cruise away from her.

Jrsy - yay for butt pictures. :cool1: :lmao:

Had a good weekend but seeing Tyler just upsets me and made me cry. I didn't witness a seizure but his new medicine makes him aggressive and that is just not like him. He is also very "jittery" and it just breaks my heart to see him like that.

Well it looks like I am going to have to put my trip report on hold because our computer is once again broken and we cannot get online. Maybe I can fly Selena out here and she can fix it for me. :thumbsup2

 Parenting is hard, but hang in there. You are doing the right thing.
I think when we went to St. Marteen we took the water taxi and just went over to Great Bay Beach. It was easy and the kids were younger. Heidi's Rhino Rider sounds like more fun though. On St. Thomas we did the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel and had an absolute blast, just have to watch where you are walking on the pier. ;)

Sorry to hear about Tyler and his meds. Poor little guy. :(

As great as it would be to have Selena fly out and fix your computer, we live a little closer and Brad is pretty good at that. :)

Hmmm, now that is tempting, I didn't realize Brad was good at computers. I might have to think of an incentive to get him to come over when Chris is done beating on it!!! :cool1:

That's right. It was the rhino rider. FUN, fun!!

Cristi, after Brad is done with Heidi's computer, could he come over here and fix ours? Man, I don't remember the name of our excursion in St Thomas but I could have easily fallen off a port too after it.

Are you talking about the one we went on together and had a few too many glasses of rum punch?

Okay I need advice, or encouragement or heck tell me i'm doing the right thing, because i can't really think of a reason not to do it but i'm stressed. A little back ground.

In Vegas I had a lot of problems with my eyes, really for a while I have been but the dryness there made it worse, so When I got home I went to the eye doctor. Well the contact girl told me I should really look into Lasik since my eyes are so sensitive then that would solve my contact problem. But, then she went ahead and ordered me some trials of a different brand to try, well they took a while to come in so while I was wearing glasses I went ahead and made a consult for Lasik. Got everything together for that, finacial as well as eye measurements, but didn't make the appointment because I would have to get a ride home. My receptionist at work offered to pick me up from there after work. Then the hurricane happened. My contact got all cloudy again, I got a call Friday that my new trial the 2nd fit, was in so I went in today at lunch. When she looked at my contact she wanted the doctor to see and the doctor diagnosed me with Blaphitis??? It's some kind of overactive old glads in the eye lids, partially allergy related. Told me to wash my eyes with baby shampoo before I put my new contacts on and every night and every morning. They also gave me some eye wash and a stronger cleaner for my contacts. Go back in 2 weeks and they will see if it's better then I can order some contacts. Well, I get back to work and say I wish I would just get the lasik and not have to worry about it. So, my receptionist talked me into calling them. They say if I stop wearing my contacts today I can have the surgery done on Oct 17th if I go in for a recheck on the 13th to make sure my eyes aren't infected. So, then maybe I don't have to get the eye wash? Maybe just the shampoo? I don't know I called the contact girl back but she was with a patient so I left a message. So, I have an apt on the 13th for a recheck for the surgery, an appt on the 14th to check my contacts and an appointment on the 17th for the surgery. Should I cancel the contact appointment and just go ahead with the surgery? Cristi, you've had it, Selena, I think you have too. Someone help me lol

Marcie - If you can do it financially, then I say go for it! Do it now before tax season gets all crazy. If you are worried financially, can they finance it? Can you go through care credit and get free interest for 18 months? 2 of my coworkers had it done here and they love it and don't regret it. I hope Cristi can chime in here and really help you out since I think she was the most recent person I know that has done it.

That's what I got, the care credit, I already have the credit on my card from past dental stuff. I'm going to do it, I'm just scared.

While I am certainly NOT an expert, everyone I know that has had the surgery LOVED it. I have extremely dry eyes and contacts don't work for me so I somewhat understand. Sounds like it is right for you and you have the financing. Did you do the research on the doctor that will do it?

It has been the hardest thing in the world to take that cruise away from MacKenzie. It broke my heart but I have to teach her lying is wrong. She was in the position to lie to me on Friday and did not. I was very proud of her and treated her to lunch at Subway. She had been begging for it but I told her punished children do not get treats.

I am so very sorry about Tyler. I can only imagine how it must hurt to see him like that.

Computers, huh? I spend so much time fixing mine the other night and now that I have my power cord (YES it came today) for my laptop I instantly had to clean it up.

Heidi there is a great free program you can download. Sandy I suggest you do this as well. It is called Super Anti Spyware free Edition. I also have Avast on my computer. Both are free and they are exceptional. Our IT guys use it on their own computers. The Super Anti Spyware is the one that found all the viruses the other night on my decktop.

I would go to tools and internet options and clean out your cookies, temporary files and passwords then your histroy on there. This will help a little. Of course you need to realize it will wipe out any saved passwords. Then I went to program files and deleted anything I knew was a game. I do NOT suggest for you to play around in your Program Files unless you know what you are doing. You might delete something that you do not need to delete. After doing that you can download the above programs. Run the Super Adware program first. I ran it 4 times to get everything off. The reason you have to run a program so many times at first, is to clean things off that might be hiding other things that needs to be deleted. Once you have those off you can rerun the program and you will see that it might find more stuff. Thus the reason I ran it the other night 4 times. The first times you run it make sure you run the complete scan. You also need to run it when you can watch it. Like when you first get home start the program and let it run. If it finds a trojan it has be been removed at the time of it finding it, if you are not there to click the correct buttons then you will cause yourself more time because the program will not continue on the scan until you have removed the trojan.

Hope that helps you both out. You have to clean and run a scan at least once a week to keep your computer fast and working. I clean mine every couple of days and if I know Erik has been on the computer I clean it after he is off. Kids go to various sites that will automatically put trackers on your computer. Heck so do adults.

Marcie I had lasik several years ago and it was the best money I have ever spent. I knew up front though that one of my eyes would not be corrected fully. I have bad astigmetism (sp), a lazy right eye and my vision just sucked. I see very well and the last time I went to the doctor (over the summer) I just knew he was going to say to renew my licenses I was going to need glasses. He laughed at me when I told him this. He said I see plenty fine and probably will for the majority if not the rest of my life.

I would think you would need to clear up the infection first. You can not have the surgery without the your eyes being healthy. Go ahead and do what you eye doctor told you to do to help this clear up. Go for your consult and then make your decision.

My surgery was 50 seconds on one eye and 40 on the other. Yes that is long for lasik. I was told to keep my eyes shut for 24 hours and I had to put drops in every our or two. The doctor told me when I opened my eyes it would feel like sand was in them along with hotsauce. Well he was not lying. Jeff had to force my eyes open due to this. It was funny seeing me get around the house with not opening my eyes. I was alone the next day. I felt my way around the house. lol I was out of work for 2 or 3 days because I could not hardly open my eyes. My surgery was extensive and not all people react the same way. I knew what I was in for when I did it and would do it again in a heartbeat so I can wake up to see things each morning. You also have to wear something special over your eyes. I had to wear patches and also a taped on set of glasses. Jeff had to take them on nightly. This is so you will not accidently rub your eyes in your sleep. If you do you could undo the surgery.

Please remember my case was special. No one that I know who has had the surgery really believes I had to miss work that long or that I had the problems that I did because they did not have the same issues as I need. As I said I knew up front what was going to happen. I just did not realize I would be out quite that long.

GO FOR IT!!!!

I agree with Cristi if Brad is good with computers let him come over and help.

We helped friends the other night fix theirs and what I mentioned above helped them and fixed their computer. It took them about 2 days to get all the crap off of their computer. Their granddaughter has way too much fun when there and they had no clue to scan for adware, malware of viruses. Our IT people at work hates the purchase McAfee and the other stuff. They swear it downloads crap on your computer.
