Jrsy, do you know much about computers? One of the NJ DISers took some great pictures at Heidi's wedding. You probably saw the couple with the nice cameras....no not the photographers. Anyway, he took them with high resolution so that we could blow them up in size. Together they took about 1000 pictures and take up an 8GB USB memory stick. Anyway, we downloaded the pictures on the computer off the USB stick. They are so huge that we can't email or make a CD. Do you know how to reduce the resolution or whatever? Everyone keeps telling me to burn a DVD but I can't see how to do that either. Even if I burned a DVD, I still can't share the pictures with anyone via the computer. Heidi can't post pictures either from them.

I don't know if there is a way to just reduce the size of all the photos in one fell swoop, but if you have just a handful that you want to make a more manageable size, you can do it manually; I typically have to do the same thing whenever I download photos from my own camera or they are too huge to fit on the screen. I use a program called PhotoStudio, but any program you have that allows you to manipulate photos should work. I don't think any digital cameras don't come with some kind of similar software.

All you have to do, once you are in the application, is figure out how to change the image size. In PhotoStudio, it is on the Edit menu and you just put in the percentage; with my camera, I typically reduce the size to 35% but it sounds like you will have to go smaller. If you have the time, play with the program for a bit until you get it figured out, but don't save the photo you are testing it on until you have exactly what you want and you may want to save it under a different file name.

As far as burning a DVD, I think that is being recommended because a DVD has more storage space than a CD but you have to have the capability to burn a DVD; I don't think you can do it with just any CD burner. I agree that you wouldn't be able to upload the files to a website or email them but I'm guessing the suggestion is so that you could mail the DVDs to people to share the photos.

Hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have more questions.

Heidi, we tried to find these to include in your wedding gift:

They were in the ad for Bed Bath & Beyond, but weren't available at the store we went to.

My friends bought these and love them.

Heidi those are great pictures. I took a quick look but will look at them when I have more time tomorrow.

Hey I'm home from Houston. Heidie, I will look at your pics tomorrow and everyone I will catch up tomorrow. I am so super tired after keeping up with 2 teenagers all week, but Aerial posted a blog to her friends about the trip so I am going to copy and paste it, it made me laugh. I will write my own update tomorrow and find a pic or two to share, until then, enjoy, by the way Aerial's best friend's name is Marci, so you don't get confused.

SUPER SPESHUL AWESOME YAY HOUSTON TRIP!!! :]
Current mood: not sad :]
Category: not sad :] Travel and Places

Okay... wow...

i was in houston for the past three days... with marci and my mom

it was completely super special awesome

:]

on the first day, we were drove to houston ((downtown yay)) by this town car guy named quinton

he was awesome... no, not just awesome... super special awesome lol

we went to this hotel called the CQ. seriously. there were all these little CQ's everywhere

the lady at the counter seemed all nice and stuff.......

...

at first. but she was actually a SCARY DEMON!!! ((insert terrifying ghost noises here)) she gave us the wrong key to the room we were staying in... there were other people in it!! i wanted to press the doorbell and tell them to get out, but then this guy came out of the elevator and he was all like 'i have ur key im sorry that lady is such a SCARY DEMON!!!' and he gave us our actual keys to our actual room ((which was one room down.. -_-))

...let me just start by saying this: nothing. in. the. room. matched.

each of the walls were a different color, the carpet had random patches of differentness, the curtains didnt match anything, the chair was just kind of there, and there was a green light on the cieling.

trust me, u dont even want to know the rest

we went to the hard rock cafe after that. there was this waiter guy singing to like all of the songs that played. i ate these potato things... does that make me a cannibal? i also bought this super special awesome green day shirt

after we finished eating and chatting with the chick at the counter, we went outside to wait in a line. yes, a line. an amazing line. of super special awesomeness. we waited in this line for six and a half hours. oh yeah, the line was for a lifehouse concert. but we were at the front of the line, so it was totally worth the long wait. of course, i was entertained pretty much the entire time, cuz there was the radio van thingy by us and it had a 'txt us!' number on it.

so naturally i txted it. and this guy named mat txted back lol.

CONVERSATION BETWEEN ME AND THE SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME GUY THAT IS MAT:

me: hey ((just fyi the signature for my txts is 'arg im canadian'))

mat: r u really canadian?

me: yeah, a canadian pirate

mat: r u left or right hook-handed?

me: im left hook-handed

mat: do u have a parrot?

me: no, an iguana

mat: do u have a wooden leg?

me: no... its gold

then he stopped talking to me for a while, so naturally i txted him back ((eventually))

me: my friend is a ninja vampire

mat: im a ninja pirate. i could beat myself in an arguement. or a barguement.

me: arg. i want a muffin

and once again he stopped, so once again i started ((lol))

me: ...mat? i lost my cupcake...

mat: was it chocolate?

me: yes. it was chocolate with rainbow sprinkles!

then marci took the phone... so now 'me' is marci ((just... fyi))

me: do u love me mat?

mat: i love u more and it's a competition and i win... :P

me: what if i love u more? then i win

me: wanna get married?

mat: i cant marry pirates or ninjas. only sailors or scallywags. darn.

THE END OF OUR AWESOME CONVERSATION~~~

anyway, so after that ((lol)) we went into the lifehouse concert and there were these awesome people who opened called honey honey and mike nathons... u guys should listen to them cuz they rock.

anywho, after lifehouse, we waited outside of their bus, but to no avail, as they were all to busy eating pizza to come out and see their fans. marci and my mother were completely brokenhearted....

then yesterday, we went to this super special awesome yay contemporary art museum!!!! they had these wierd dress things that danced... it was kinda freaky, but addicting to watch. and there was this movie... with the slave guy... i dont really want to talk about it lol

after that, we were riding on the metrorail thingy-ma-bob, and i swear i saw a psychic, but when we rode it again, it was no longer there... so no one believes me lol. BUT IT DOES EXIST!

then we went to the hobby center ((many centers inside!)) and walked up marble stairs!!! we saw Sweeney Todd the broadway musical!!!! i got a poster and marci got an apron that says 'mrs lovetts meat pies!' it was completely awesome

afterwards, these people stole our cab, so we were waiting around for another one, and this guy walks out of the building and says 'nice apron' to marci, and shes all like 'thanks' and hes all 'how much were they?' '25 dollars...' then we were all kinda silent for a minute or two, and she randomly screams 'its that guy! sweeney todd!' and it was the sweeney todd guy!!!! either judy kaye or david hess.... anyway, we took pictures with him and made PHYSICAL CONTACT!

when we got back to the hotel we took random things from each of the nine floors, like pillows and water and coffee creamer... we also took pictures with each floor number

today, we had to get up early ((ick)) and we went to see the ASTROS... who lost... it was sad... afterwards we watched this band Reckless Kelly, and there was this guy in it who was playing a mini-guitar and it was so funny looking lol

then we went back to the hotel so we could leave, and our ride was gone!!! it turns out he stole the pilots that this other guy was supposed to bring to the airport, and he had to come back for us. we took pictures with the two car guys and the pilots, to prove that they exist

...

and now we're back

Welcome back Marcie, sounds like you had a very busy weekend from Aerial's blog!! I am dying to know how Lifehouse was.

I have a half day today because we have to go to a wedding in Colorado Springs that starts at 4:00.

Welcome back Marcie! Missed you! Aerial's blog was "awesome". How cute! Now for your trip report!

Okay I am going to work on my trip report now.

We had a town car bring us to Houston and he got here a little before noon. We got to our hotel around 1 or so and we were just going to let them hold our luggage but they went ahead and checked us in early. I really liked this hotel but the girls thought they had seen better. :rotfl2: It is a private hotel that is mostly business people. Anyway, the lady at the desk gave us the wrong room and we stuck our key in, good thing they had the lock, locked. We could hear them inside. So, after we got in our correct room we freshened up and then took off for the hard rock. We had lunch, I had some kind of malibu colado in a souvenier glass. After that we all bought tshirts. Since camera's usually aren't allowed in concerts we ran back to the hotel and dropped off the tshirts and camera and went back to stand in line. The hard rock and the theatre's doors are right next door. It's a really nice setup. They did end up letting people bring in cameras, but I did get to take a lot with my phone. So, we sat in line awhile, there were only about 15 people in front of us at the most. Aerial and Marci told me they were fine so I went back into the hard rock and asked if I could have a drink and bring it on the patio. So, I sat on the patio and had two drinks while I watched Aerial and Marci sitting on the steps. They were about 25 feet from me maybe. It definitely was worth watiting all day. The dj van kept people entertained and they went around and gave fake tattoos to everyone in line. It had rained earlier in the midmorning so it really wasn't even that hot out there. Here's my new favorite pic. This is while we were waiting on the steps, with my cell phone.

I ended up talking to a lot of people in line and at the concert. This one girl was there with her friend who had a date, so she was feeling like the 3rd wheel. She stayed with us the whole show. I also met a few groups of people who travel all over to see Lifehouse. One is a photographer, not sure the story of the other group, but they definitely knew the bands. So, I already got to get a few pictures from the photographer. :goodvibes

They let us in the theatre and hour before the show and I quickly went to the tshirt line and got my shirt. Aerial and Marci passed because they wanted souveniers at Sweeney Todd. We got into the theatre and met back up with all our new friends. We were right by the stage in front of the guitarist Ben Carey, on the left of the stage. Wow what a show!!! First off was Honey Honey, it was a female singer and a guitar, that was it. They played for 30 minutes or so. They were okay. Here's a pic of her

Next up was Matt Nathanson. He was really good. I bought his cd this morning. He played mostly his own stuff and then also played Jessie's girl by Rick Springfield & Don't Stop Believing by Journey. The whole place was singing to that one. He is really good with interacting with the audience. I liked him. Here's a pic

It was finally time for what I have been waiting for. Lifehouse has been my all time favorite band for the past 7 or more years. Seeing them was a dream come true for me. I wanted to see them while I was married to Dane and he would not be any part of it. Then, last year we were at WDW when they were here. So, I've waited a LONG time and this was the best gift I could give myself. I had tears in my eyes when Jason Wade first started singing. They were amazing in person. They played for about an hour and a half. The best part of the show was when the singer Jason Wade came to our side of the stage and was singing and he looked up and pointed at me!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship:   He saw me!! Aerial and Marci were flipping and I bet I had the most shocked look on my face. They played a few older songs and most of their new stuff. They left and came back for 1 last song, Broken. It was the most amazing hour and a half of my life and I sure hope I get the chance to see them again. Here's a few pics.
