I have ridden Tower of Doom here at Elitches. I would probably ride it again, but the TOT I didn't really like the up and down of it.

I'm the total opposite; I liked the up and down of TOT and how it is unpredictable. TOD made me a little more nervous out in the open with my feet dangling.

We're heading to Grand Lake for the weekend, doing some letterboxing and looking for moose. This is our "vacation" since I have been working so much. Hope the weather is good.

Welcome back, Karen! We've still got almost 6 months of anticipation before our next Disney trip. Where about in Nebraska are you? Was it Kearny? How is the prime rib there compared to Florida?

Good morning guys!!! All is well today!! I have two school things to go to and have not made my morning latte so.... let me see if I can type right!!!
Tonight I am going to meet my sisters and some friends at Brewsky's. I am so ready for that!!! I have bee dying forf a gin and tonic in all this heat.

I do not know who I want to win BB. I first was for Season 6 but now and turnig toward chilltown. I really don't wasnt to see Will win it twice though, so I guess Boogie. Marci... if it came down to the two... who would you choose?

I was so glad to see in my email that the thread not only came into my inbox, but also did not hassle me on ID and password.... I started sweating for a moment.
Christi.... I am wondering if I saw the pics of your mom.... I do not remember.Do you remember what number post it was? Maybe I was rushing trying to read to much.

Cool site, Marcie!

I just finished going through the school supplies we bought before vacation to see what else we still need to get. All I need is some graph paper, another pack of pencils and 2 colors of the Mr Sketch markers (we are reusing from previous years, but I am missing two of the colors). My neighbor across the street told me earlier in the summer that she has a bunch of the markers from other years left so I may go see if she has the colors I need. DD still needs a lunch box and back pack. Her lunchbox from last year is still fine, but she was wanting the kind that Jacob had last year that had two separate sections in it. We are just having a hard time finding the right color (okay so we have only looked at two places )

Hi everyone! Just thought I would write more of my trip report. I am on Saturday, the day we get on the ship. We had to have our luggage packed and by our door by 8 a.m. so we got it all packed up Friday night and got up at 7:30 a.m. to start getting dressed. They picked up our luggage around 8:30 and we went down to the food court to grab some breakfast. After that we went back to the room until 11 which was check out time then we hung out at the tables by the pool until time to meet up in the food court to go on the bus to the port. Here is a pic of me waiting.

While we were sitting in the food court waiting to get on the bus we met these people sitting next to us. They were from Nova Scotia, and man and his wife, mother and 12 year old daughter. They were really nice and we saw them all over the ship. Aerial didn't spend anytime in the kids lab after the first day so she never got to hook up with her on the ship but we talked to them everytime we saw them. Getting on the bus was smooth and we were on our way by 12:30 getting to the port a little after 1:30. Here is a picture of Aerial on the bus when we boarded.

There was a much shorter line this time to get through security so that went pretty fast and then we went to the Castaway Club checkin line and only had to wait for about 2 people ahead of us. I had checked in online so I just pretty much had to give her our signed papers and she gave us our KTTW cards and lanyards and pins. A quick look at our cards and I knew we had LAP rotation. That was the 6 dining so I was really happy. 5:30 would have been a bit early. Since we ate a late breakfast we had decided to skip the lunch because we wanted to go straight up to the spa to see if they had any villas left since I had cancelled mine online. First we went to our room dropped off our carryons and off we went to the spa. There was an 8 o'clock appt for the cheapest couples villa the next morning which was perfect since nothing else would be going on then and it wasn't the day of our character breakfast. After the spa we checked out the kids lab and ocean quest. Ocean quest looked really cool. After that it was almost time to meet the disers at the Promanade Lounge at 3 so we went ahead over there and ordered us a bon voyage drink and relaxed. About 10 minutes later people started coming and we ended up meeting a lot of nice people. Aerial hooked up with another girl pretty fast, she is 11, and they made plans to meet up after dinner. We left there after a while to go unpack and get ready for the drill.

Doesn't she look happy to be at the drill. The drill really didn't last too long and then it was off to the sail away party. We went up to deck 10 and got to get right by the rail to watch the band and the characters. The band was called the breakers and they werne't the best but it was a lot of fun. We each got a bon voyage drink, Aerial's virgin of course, and got to bring home 3 more glasses to add to our others. We broght Cosmo to the sail away party and took a bunch of pictures. Once the ship started moving we made our way to the back of the boat to watch the water. After that it was back off to the room to finish unpacking and get ready for dinner. We got to dig in our basket from Shirley too. Our first dinner was in Lumiere's and we had table 20, it was a table for 8 and we were looking forward to meeting the people seated with us. They were late to dinner actually we had already ordered and were eating our appetizers when they showed up. Our server was Alicia from Trinadad and Alfredo I don't remember where he was from, it was his first time and he ended up getting sick on Monday and was replaced by Alvin from the Phillipines I think. Anyway, Alicia was a very friendly lady. We really enjoyed her. So here we are getting settled into our meal and this family is brought to our table. A man, woman 2 little kids and a teenager. The woman is looking at us and saying oh no she then tells the server that seated them that she doesn't want to sit with us because their kids will drive us nuts. After a bit they tell them they have to sit with us and the man keeps looking at us apologetically, like he was embarrased that his wife was complaining. Anyway they sit down and introduce theirselves. It was a married couple with their 4 and 2 year olds and their cousin from Germany who was 17. The woman starts talking in German to the girl and pointing at us and I was really wondering about this whole eating with them stuff. But, by the end of the week we really enjoyed our time with them. Their 4 year old Gabrial really warmed up to us and talked to us a lot. They got the lecture about not being late to dinner and we got the talk about if we want to leave early let them know. We did leave early twice to go to other things. I really am glad we got to know them though. After dinner we brought Aerial to the lab where she was going to meet the other girl and we went to the show. It was the variety show and we really enjoyed it. There was a magician, Mike Super, he was really good and a singer comedian hmmm can't recal his name. While we were watching the show we got a page that said Aerial left the lab with the other girl and they went shopping. My daughter doesn't even like to shop so I knew that wasn't her idea but at the same time I was a little worried that she would be buying up the shops. So, after the show we went into the shops but they weren't there. We found her in our room she was done for the night. The other girls parents who I met on here brought the girls shopping along with the other girl who was seated with them at dinner. They bought each of the girls a souvenier which I thought was so nice. Aerial got a little journal book that she then wrote in everyday about the trip. We were going to go to the club but since Aerial was done for the night we decided to be done too and went to bed. I don't know if it was the bonine or what but I was sleepy by 10 everynight. We didn't have many late nighters. Okay that is enough of day one of the cruise. I will write about day two later.

Marcie - That is such a good picture of you!!! Aerial looks so irritated at the boat drill, that was hilarious!!!! I can't believe your table mates, that first impression would have killed me and I wouldn't have liked them from there on, you are a better person than me!!!! That is good that Aerial was able to make a friend so early on, hopefully they were good friends throughout the trip and made Aerial's trip even more fabulous!

Jrsy - I so agree with you on TOT and TOD. I have this weird thing with TOD and that my shoes will either fall off, my legs will be crushed when it comes back done, or someone will pull on my leg !! Call me weird, I agree....it is craziness. How was Grand Lake?

Karen - How is work?

Cristi - We can meet up on the weekend that I am back...which is September 23-24th, the next weekend after that is my parents birthdays!!!!!

How was Grand Lake?

We had a good time and finally saw a couple of bull moose. Alex was under the weather, though, so we didn't get in as much hiking as we did last time. It is sad how many more dead pines there are now, less than a year later, due to the pine beetle infestation.

Did we miss a big storm or something on Saturday?

Thank you! Our tablemates were more amusing to me then anything. Yes, Aerial and her friend exchanged numbers and email addresses so maybe they will keep in touch.

Heidi, maybe we can set something up for that Sat or something. I think I am working, but usually on the weekend I am not there a full day so as long as everyone brought stuff for the party I would be fine.

Jrsy, we were up in Arvada Sat night, but on it did rain a lot on the way. When we were on the way home it almost looked like it had hailed in some areas. Too bad Alex wasn't feeling well. Is he doing better now?
