Cranberry or Pineapple?? Part 2

Thank you! When my sister took him to the hospital on Friday (he's been home about a week now) they were told that his lungs are clear now :yay: And they removed the staples from the surgery area. The Dr told him that they only reason he survived andis doing so well is because of his age. ;) He'll be 22 in a couple of weeks.

He was also told that it is going to be around 3 months before he can walk on his own - they think! Right now he has to use a walker and it has to be flat -- no stairs for a long time!

His spirits haver really soared since coming home. Of course he is bored out of his mind being at home if no one is there... right now my sisiter & his wife have both taken a few more days off to alternate being with him... Luckily my sister can do some of her work from home -- she does marketing for Sports Clips.
I really wished they lived closer so that we could help!!!

The other guys insurance company is now saying that they aren't going to pay since they don't believe it is their clients fault -- to run the red light he drove around 2 stopped cars (he drove on the shoulder to do that) and he was still going 73mph when he hit my nephew! Luckily my sister has hired an attorney - the car was in my sisters name.

He could still use prayes for more physical healing and his emotional healing.

Her insurance should be able to sue their insurance and save your sister the money of an attorney. The insurance will not pay anymore than the policy states with or without a lawyer. There insurance should be the one who sues this other persons insurance not your sister.

A lot of times those lawyers are only out to make money and you or the person winds up having to pay the fees for the attorney for no more money than they would have gotten without a lawyer.

We will keep him in our prayers for a long time I am sure.

I have a freind who lives in Alaska. They are having record numbers of snow this year. The bad draw there is now Juneau is under and avalanche watch. Please think of all of these people who live there that might be in danger.

True. My sister has a friend that is a PI for this attorney.
We think the guy that hit him has some lying issues......He told the tow truck driver he is in the Navy and just spent a year in Afganastan (he's 62) and he told the police he is in the Army. He had no base stickers on his car (my dad is retired Navy and he noticed that <gg>) and his SUV is owned by a business he owns. :sad2:

We will keep him in our prayers for a long time I am sure..

Thank you!

Oh, my! Will do! How frightening!

Selena - Maybe Chris and I can join you on that cruise. We have a free 4 or 5 day cruise that we can upgrade and pay the difference. We can go on Norweigan, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland American and one more that I can't think of. How scary for those people in Juneau, I will keep them in my thoughts.

Stephanie - Glad your nephew is doing better. Too bad the other driver is making up stories and the insurance co is causing some problems. I think Selena gave great advice.

Jrsy - I didn't see you downtown on Saturday ;) It was packed!!!! First time I have rode the lightrail in years. Didn't realize it would take over an hour to get home because of the long stop it has at Broadway!!!!

I know better than to be downtown when there is a parade or a run or anything with "a-thon" at the end. Alex isn't in any classes currently on Saturdays, so we steered clear. In fact, I stopped by Arrow looking for the Sam Adams Longshot 6-pack, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I had to suffer and drink some of the Nassau Royale rum I bought on the Wonder.

Why did the light rail have a long stop at Broadway? It doesn't normally.

Hi guys, another picture perfect day in CO.

Selena, that cruise sounds awesome!! We unfortunately can't do something like that until 2009.

Stephanie, Selena gave you perfect advice! The driver is crazy....I didn't realize he was old, too. I just pictured a younger person driving around the two cars! Glad your nephew is doing better.

So, did we! LOL! No one had mentioned his age and we didn't know until my sister received a copy of the Police report. We knew he was also drinking a large Starbucks when he crashed because it is now all over the inside of his Lexus...... And someone going that fast around noon.... he was still going 73 mph when the impact happened.... Who knows how fast he was going before he realized that he had to stop!??!!

I'm so glad that y'all are finally having nice weather!!! :cool2:

I cannot wake up today...hoping the morning goes okay since I am still sleepy.

Marcie - today I go for my first waxing of the season!!! Can't wait for the pain.

LOL! I thought of ya'll when Samantha (my almost 16dd) & I went for our eyebrow waxing on Friday.... I haven't decided if I have the nerve to get the nether regions waxed! ;)

I got my eyebrows waxed last Thursday and was thinking about the other again. :rotfl: Heidi let me know how the pain goes. Tonight I have a pedicure appointment after Aerial's softball game. It is so warm here, I need to buy some new summer shoes and flip flops.

We got some good news last night! Aerial made it into National Junior Honor Society! The induction is Thursday night, an hour after her softball game ends and she has to be dressed up. That's going to be a busy night.

Selena, when is the date of that 2008 Nov. cruise?

Congrat Aerial for making it to National Junior Honor Society!!! My sister and I were also inducted. We had a lot of fun, but I hated the induction because I had to dress up...back then there was no way you would get me into a dress without a fight.

Marcie - Ya I am sucking it up again!!! I want to do it more regularly this summer then I did last summer. Last summer I just did it for vacations.

Congratulations to Aerial!:cool1:

Marcie, bring along some kleenex's for the induction. It definitely brought tears to my eyes! Hmmmm, now that I think about it. Do you think that because it was an honor for the girls OR because they actually dressed up?:rotfl:

Heidi, I am like you. I just can't wake up. I didn't sleep well last night so I will be "off" all day! I keep thinking about your dad's flex days.

Thank you! That is sooo funny you mention that. I told Aerial last night that she better not wait until Thursday to decide what she is going to wear. She wears uniforms so she doesn't have that much clothes and very few dress clothes. The worst part though is shoes. She hates dress shoes, and doesnt have that much to choose from when we shop, since she wears a 10 1/2. So whatever she picks she will be uncomfortable. I really have no time to bring her shopping either. Maybe, Wed night after practice. She has games tonight and Thursday, and she had so much homework last night, she wasn't done until 9. Oh well I am sure she will survive the hour dressed up and I will be taking lots of pics.

I hear the more you get it done, the less it hurts. Maybe you just get used to it.

Okay help me out. I don't have much of a brain left. :rotfl2: I think I should get Aerial something to give to her after the induction? I was thinking a necklace, but then I thought later I'm sure I can get her something that says NJHS on it. Do you think I should get her a few roses? Or, do i not get her anything? LOL Oh man I'm tired. :rotfl2: I gotta start thinking about EAster soon too. But, I think I know what I'm getting her for that.

Marcie - I have no idea where you would find something that says NJHS on it, I remember getting a Pin with NJHS on it. I think a cute necklace or bracelet would work out great.....flowers die to quickly and when she sees the bracelet or necklace it would remind her of the great job she did.

The cruise is November 2, 2008. We will be going on the Carnival Pride out of Long Beach, CA.

Stephanie did I mention my husband works for an insurance company? He tells friends all the time unless the person is rich who caused the accident you should not get an attorney at first. The insurance will only pay so much and your insurance company will do the investigation and will then subugate the other company. They will pay. However if you think your nephew will need to go after more money for his recovery and the person has the money then would want to look into a lawyer for a personal suite again him.

Way to go Ariel!!!

Wowthey do not have the NJHS here at my kids school. I know Erik made some type of Presidential Honor Society last year. It is based on your EOG (end of grade test) and your grades. You have to make 4's on your testing and have an A average for 3 years. He made that. Only 2 including him at his school made this.
