Headed out on the Fantasy for a 7 night cruise. Will I be able to find crab legs at the buffets? Will it be only certain days?
TIA

TIA

In 2012 the buffet had snow crab legs. In 2013 they were gone and replaced by stone crab claws, which they are still serving. Palo brunch does have split king crab leg that are cut in about 5 to 6 inch sections - yummy.
Don't know if it's only certain days or not, but on our Fantasy cruise they had a seafood bar in Cabanas on our 5th day (lunch)

A bit different. For the stone crab claws the meat is a bit stronger in flavor. I think snow crab legs are sweeter in taste and more tender compared to king crab, but many like king crab - king crab costs about double the cost of snow crab and the legs are much larger. At palo you don't have to crack them they are split and the meat just lifts out.
On our Dream cruise in November that seafood buffet was out at every lunch. I never saw any other crab other than those claws. I do recall eating entirely too many of the shrimp though.
The interesting thing about stone crab claws is that they can be harvested without actually killing the crabs. The crab groes the arm back! Of course the crab might be really pi--ed off about the whole process, but that's a different matter.
if you don't see crackers ask one of the cm's and they will get you some. they put them out but there must not be to many because once they are gone, they are gone. they also have a tiny cut in each so worst case scenario take a knife to the cut and twist. My question is how do you eat those claws? I didn't see crackers at the buffet and I couldn't get in them! (I only ate lunch once on the cruise, so I can't say for sure that this was always the case.)
I was hoping for Alaskan Crab Legs. They are so sweet.![]()
