Do you make room requests when you make your reservation? I didn't, but am wondering if there are rooms I may want to avoid or if there is something that I should request? I know it is just a request and there are no guarantees, but looking for those that have "been there, done that". We would like something that is more on the quiet side. We are light sleepers so being right beside an elevator, for example, would be ok, but not ideal. Should we be requesting something higher up, so it is away from Chef Mickey's and the monorail? Thanks for any tips!

The request I might think about making is an odd numbered room. My understanding is that the beds face the window (or rather face the theme park direction) in some rooms. We were happy to take whatever was ready when we arrived at CR (an even one), but I would enjoy staring at the castle from my bed.

I can't imagine that the elevators are an issue for any of the rooms - the elevators are in the center with no rooms adjacent. We were also in a higher room, but there was no noise at all from the lower floors once our door was closed, even though the monorail and other activity was clearly audible when we were outside the room.

My family stayed early December 2013 at CR. We had a TPV. We were on the 7th floor, kind of in between the cafe and Chef Mickey's. My girls were 2 & 3 at the time and pretty hard sleepers as is DH. I definitely heard Chef Mickey's every morning and night. I also felt the monorail when it made its runs through the hotel. It never woke me up but I heard everything prior to falling asleep. I was so happy just to be there with my family it didn't bother me, however, by the end of the week I was sick of hearing Chef Mickey's and feeling the monorail. Also, during busy times it was difficult to get into the elevator. Sometimes it was easier for us to catch an elevator going up, just so we could go down. Quite a few times the elevators were full by the time they reached our floor. If you and your family are light sleepers, I suggest a higher floor than the 7th and on the opposite end of Chef Mickey's.
