Need info about CR Tower Club on the 12th floor! I understand that it is a 'lite' concierge level. I have read they serve doughnuts, pastries, etc. Do they have coffee out in the morning ? I also read they don't have soft drinks available for guests, is this right also? You have to go downstairs to the arcade area to get drinks, correct? For the $$ each day, couldn't you just order room service for the same amount? Are the rooms any bigger? Do these rooms have different amenities than the reg. tower rooms, like bathrobes? We also understand that if you stay Tower Club, you will be on the 12th floor guaranteed. I am not that particular about the view, it will be fanstastic in any room we get! They can make PSs, right? It will only be the two of us going this year, our honeymoon. We are also planning on staying 8 nights at the end of Sept.. We will be there for MNSSHP and Food/Wine Fest.. Thank you for all your input!!! Narrowing our choices!

Here is some info I found...

What are the Concierge rooms like?

The Concierge Floors - 12 and 14 - have two types of rooms - standard and suites. The standard rooms are identical to the Tower rooms below, only with a larger balcony area. Standard rooms are available on the 12th floor only. The 14th floor has both standard and suite rooms.
There is a BIG difference in the concierge services between the two floors. The 12th floor is called the Tower Club, which is basically Contemporary Concierge Light. Concierge services are available from 7am to 4pm on the 12th floor. Special services on the 12th floor include: complimentary continental breakfast, and concierge services during 7-4pm.

Now, the 14th floor concierge is a full service concierge. There is a FULL continental breakfast (much bigger than the 12th floor), daily appetizers catered by the California Grill, and nightly desserts catered by the California Grill. There is a nightly turndown service, and they leave a little chocolate Mickey (solid chocolate) on your pillow every night. The concierge is available from 7am to 10pm to make dining reservations, plan outings, answer questions, everything.

Concierge Castle View Lounge - 14th Floor (March 2004)

7:00am - 10:30am Continental Breakfast
11:30am - 3:00pm Snacks (chips, pretzels, coffee, soda)
3:00pm - 4:30pm Afternoon Tea (and cookies)
5:00pm - 7:00pm Wine and Cheese
5:30pm - 7:00pm Hot hor d'oeuvres
8:00pm - 10:00pm - Cordial and dessers
6:00pm - 10:00pm - Evening Turn Down Service

The concierge lounge on the 14th floor ONLY has free beer, wine, soda, and bottled water all day. Each 14th floor level room has a refrigerator stocked with free soda and juice. Room rates are double the average tower room, so you can determine if the service is worth the added expense. Discounts are sometimes offered on the 12th floor rooms, such as Annual Passholder discounts. Discounts are rare for the 14th floor suite rooms.

Thanks for the info! Has anyone stayed on the 12th floor? If so, how do you compare it to the reg. standard rooms in the tower? The 14th floor is just not in our price range right now.

I stayed there last year and would not do the club room again. The rooms are the same as the rest of the tower. It did have a nice continental breakfast but other than that-not much. The staff was very friendly but I usually prefer to make my own PS so did not use them. No robes.

As always, we still love the contemporary but did not feel the concierge light was worth the extra expense. I may still try for 14th floor next time (wasnt available on my dates)

If I remember correctly, after breakfast there really wasnt anything out except for some cookies, fish, etc and lemonade - no soft drinks.

Keep in mind I may have been spoiled by the Poly concierge.

Thanks again! I think that we will just stay reg. tower. The benefits of the Tower Club are minimal, I can't believe that they don't have soft drinks!!!!
Like I said before, we could order room service for the extra price, and have a nice meal instead of doughnuts!!!!

You might want to take a look at this thread, http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=8587260&postcount=51 . It was posted by someone who works concierge at the CR. She reports what is currently being offered on the 14th floor and later states that the food service is exactly the same on the 12th floor, they just end it at 4pm. According to her post, soda is available. It became available at all the resorts within the past 6 months or so. Prior to that, all you had to do was ask and a CM would get it for you. Might be worth a PM to this DIS'er for any clarification that you need.

I am a single dad and stayed on the Tower Club level. The previous posters are correct the rooms are the same size, but here is what made the experiencce so attractive for me. I was traveling with tow young boys one 14 and the other 10. The 10 year old was not my child. The 12th and 14th floor has limited access. i was concerned about that. Don't get me wrong we felt very safe all over the property, but to have that added layer of "protection" was worth the expense. Oh! I think we also got a deal because of the time of year...late August... The concierge was great...

Lastly...the snacks and cookies really helped keep the cost down...The boys loved it..

So did I

Hope this helps
