Cp for 2nd time vs. PI question

Hi all. My son is currently in the CP for the first time. He loves it loves it loves it:cool1:, and is already looking at some options. I need alittle help with some things. He's got one full year left of school for his Bachelors. He knows he can apply to extend his CP (he's supposed to come home in May) and stay til August. Is that considered doing the max of two CP programs in a row before going back to school?

Also, what is the difference in requirements for doing the CP again vs. applying for a PI? And finally, does he have to complete his degree/college in order to apply for a PI?

Thank you so much for your help.

In regards to the PI, your son could apply, but the chances of getting one before graduation are slim. Disney tends to prefer students who are close to graduation for the PI's, though the management/guest relations PI's might be a little more lenient. PI's are, as the name suggests, professional roles within the company and it's much harder to get the PI's than the CP. Since the PI's are professional, recruiters are looking for students who have a specific goal in mind and many times a specific major (and there are far fewer openings). They rarely change from semester to semester so you can go online to disneycareers and look at the requirements to see if there are any he might be interested in.

I'm not sure if it's considered a double CP if he only extends until August, but I do know you're not allowed to be a CP for more than 365 days before you have to leave and come back.

If you have other questions I can try to answer them as it can be quite confusing about how this all works and the many quirks in the system.

I cannot answer your pi questions but as far as extending goes; he's allowed to be on any internship for up one consecutive year at a time. So some of his choices right could be extend until August or apply for a PI.
Since he's in a regular spring program, your son will have the opportunity to extend two times. His first would be til August then the next would end early January. At that point he would be at the one year mark and will no longer be able to apply for another extention.

Hi, I know this is an old thread - how soon do you find out if the extension has been accepted? TIA
