CP Alumni

What was your role? Did you like it?
I am currently in Merchandise at Animal Kingdom and I love it! The people I work with are really great, managers coordinators and cast members alike.

What apartment did you stay at?
Patterson Court, 3 bedroom with initially 5 roommates.

Did you let Disney pre-pick your roommate?
Nope. I'm rooming with a girl I met on Facebook.

How many roommate do you suggest someone have?
I love how many I have now. I can't really imagine having anymore than 6, but then again, I couldn't imagine having more than 1 at the beginning of my program. Please believe that we don't all get along perfectly, but it's still an okay amount.

What did you do for fun up in Orlando?
Mostly Disney stuff. I'm not a party person, but I've been to a club a couple of times and then to Downtown Orlando to eat and stuff. Kennedy Space Center is awesome for me too. It's been kinda hard to get out of Lake Buena Vista, since my days off are my class days. So my roommate and I go to MK for castle show, Tiana's show, the parade, Spectro, Wishes, Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial, those kind of things.

What would you do differently?
I would so bring a car. I haaaaate not having one here. Also, I made a lot of money this past summer right before I came down here, so I kinda thought I could go crazy and buy whatever I wanted. Kinda had a mini crisis a few weeks ago because of that mindset. I'm out of it now, but it's definitely something I would have changed. Oh! And I would have stayed true to my blog. Womp womp!

I'm interested in this as well. Thank you everyone for your input...it makes my decision a little easier

What was your role? Did you like it?
Hospitality at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs - Basically front desk and runner. I lived for runner shifts.

What apartment did you stay at?
Chatham. I decided that Vista was not my style. It was a little to Ed Hardy-esque for me. Patterson seemed a little too quiet so I went middle of the road. I enjoyed it.

Did you let Disney pre-pick your roommate?
Yes and it worked out extremely well. Only so often did I encounter someone who was unhappy with who they got.

How many roommate do you suggest someone have?
I had a three bedroom with five other roomates. Fridge space was a little tight but at least it seemed like somebody else was always there when you had down time. The 6 of us were not really anything alike, but we all got along really well. We always had something to talk about.

What did you do for fun up in Orlando?
Ale house and Jellyrolls. I think clubs are about as fun as spending a day with the devil, so I stayed away from roxy thursdays and after a few sunday night house of blues experiences, decided to cut my ties there. Although Ale House on tuesdays was awful. What is supposed to be ladies night turns into creepy middle aged horndog night. But what night in orlando isn't right?
I did go to House of Blues for a couple of concerts and it was great. (Widespread Panic and Mofro)
I also went to some Orlando Magic games - very fun.
Other than that going to the parks for free was great.

What would you do differently?
I would like to go back and try not overdraft my account. But I spent all my money on fun things so at least I was having a great time.

Advice for future CP's?
Bring your car. I always felt so bad for the poor souls that didnt. Lifeguards are not as cool as they think they are. Don't let them fool you.

What was your role? Did you like it? Character Performer - I liked it. :) I am seasonal now.

What apartment did you stay at? Chatham Square - liked it very much.

Did you let Disney pre-pick your roommate? Yes - my roommate and I met each other before we arrived, and we used the roommate notification process.

How many roommate do you suggest someone have? I liked having 1 roommate plus myself. I guess having 2-3 other roommates wouldn't be a bad choice, either. I liked the amount of fridge space me and my roommate had. I didn't eat out very much, so I did a lot of grocery shopping and therefore appreciated the ample fridge space.

What did you do for fun up in Orlando? On many of my days off I would go play in the parks.

What would you do differently? Maybe get more pictures with characters, do some pin-trading, and hang out with other people. But I don't regret a bit of anything I did or did not do. :)

What was your role? Did you like it?
My role was and still is Main Street West merch, Magic Kingdom, and it keeps you busy. thats all i'll say about that.

What apartment did you stay at?
I have lived in patterson and chatham. i prefer chatham.

Did you let Disney pre-pick your roommate?
I let disney pre-pick my roommates. its more exciting not knowing what to expect.

How many roommate do you suggest someone have?
I highly suggest a 2 bedroom. I currently live in a 1 bedroom, and my roommates never home so its like i have my own place, but that can get pretty boring sometimes.

What did you do for fun up in Orlando?
Oh man theres so much to do here, but finding the time for it all is the hard part.

What would you do differently?
Dont wait until the last minute to open up to the people you work with. make your friendships right away, you'll enjoy your time much more. I made so many friends half way through the program, and i feel like i cheated myself out of a couple months of friendship.

What was your role? Did you like it?
Full Service Food and Beverage. At first, I had difficulty acclimating to all of the "newness" at once--new job, friends, place to live, area, etc. After I got through the first month though, I really found my place. Next time around I would choose a different role though.

What apartment did you stay at?

Chatham. I liked it for the most part, except the weird bugs that I found in my room towards the end.

Did you let Disney pre-pick your roommate?

No. I met a girl on Facebook and we decided to live together.

How many roommates do you suggest someone have?
I would say 3-5 (so two or three bedroom.) I now know that 7 was TOO many for me. I liked having everyone around, but sometimes you can't be best friends with everybody, and I'm the type of person who likes to be close with people I live with.

What did you do for fun up in Orlando?

I liked being able to go to the parks whenever I wanted if I needed to shop for anything. I would always find pretty cool "non-Disney-ized" gifts in World Showcase for family members. Once I turned 21 I would go out after work sometimes. I only went to the mall if I really needed something; I felt like they were too far away.

What would you do differently?

Well, now I know what to expect if I do it again. I wouldn't live with as many people if it could be helped. I would hang out more with friends from work (it's hard sometimes when you are in a long-distance relationship to balance friends/boyfriend). If I go back I will definitely bring my car back, I loved having it!
