Cozumel ruins on our own?

We are interested in doing a short trip to the ruins with our 10 and 8 year old. We prefer to do this on our own to be able to take as long or little time as we want. We are mainly doing this for the educational benefit for our kids.

Any ideas of where to go and who (or is it whom) to book with?
