Has anyone tried or planning to try to do the Dolphin Encounter or swim in Cozumel on your own? I'd be very interested in your experiences and/or plans. We cruise Nov. 9th and we're trying to decide to do DCL excursion or on our own. Also, is ther a place to swim at the Chankanaab Park? I know there's snorkeling, but is there a place for our 6 year old to splash around if he tires of snorkeling?

Linda,

I was thinking about doing htis excursion on our cruise on 9/28. I called DCL and asked about how much time they actually have to interact with the dolphin - she stated that they are in the water with them for a half an hour but with 20 or so people in the water the interaction is about 3 times petting them for 10 seconds. (I have a 6 year old and she would be unhappy with that.)

I have decided it is not worth it for that.

Good Luck in your decision making.
