WOW!! What an update! Congratulations on your new job!I can relate - I start a new job in a week after 10 years home (well, part time work.) Your new opportunity sounds AWESOME! Enjoy the change.

Update!
Well the 2 nurses both left weeks ago, there are agency nurses currently filling in We were told that we are not allowed to tell the new nurses any of Sues issues and if we spoke about her past we would be fired.I feel that the nurses currently working there are unaware of the risk of working with Sue.
I took some vacation time and have been working occasionally (around Sues schedule) and trying to use my vaca days up. I have FINALLY found a new position! It is totally different from what I do now, about 10K a year more than I make now and has much better benefits. I am sooooooooo nervous! The interviews were terrifying but the new job is closer to home and has great hours. I offically gave my 2 weeks notice last Monday so this will be my LAST WEEK!! The office manager had the nerve to act shocked, and when she asked me why I was leaving I told the truth. Sue threatened me and caused an extremely unpleasant work environment and nothing was done about it. I also told her that I felt the patients were unsafe.
In the meantime Sue showed up to a staff meeting on Wednesday night extremely drunk and slurring, and apparently several people smelled the alcohol coming off of her. When asked if she had been drinking she stomped around and had one of her usual tantrums, in front of the drs and the office manager this time. I am told it was very obvious she was drunk. As of Friday, Sue was put on the schedule as receptionist, and no longer working as a medical assistant, since now none of the nurses will let her work on their license since they were all present at the meeting. Fortunately I was off.
PS we are having a donut party on my last day![]()

FD, seriously your new job sounds great. Better pay, better hours, and no Sue!
Keep us posted on how your last days play out, especially the doughnut party. I'm sure it will be a doozy.

I'll admit I am still furious she has not been fired. Where else can you show up drunk and not get in trouble?

I am guessing she has naked pictures of the boss.

You might want to give a buzz to your state's department of health on your way out the door and let them know that you think one of the medical employees is drinking on the job and therefore putting patients at risk. I'm sure they'd be happy to hear that.
I think you should sign Sue up for the domut of the the month club
