No confusion. Yes based on CURRENT rules - which could change by October you would have to upload results by midnight on the 16th and therefore you could test on the 15th or 16th!

I cannot emphasize enough how much of this is for today and may be different by October.

Two days for vaccinated, and can be rapid antigen (ie the proctored home tests). Three days for unvaccinated (currently just under 5's and must be PCR/NAAT.

Bottom line, no way to tell what it will be in October. Cruisers out of Los Angeles County starting July 29th will have to wear masks again in public places (airport, cruise terminal, stores, public transit). Not sure if any cruise lines will extend this to on their ships. This will continue for two weeks due to a spike. At least now we are getting a couple of weeks warning.

Oh wow

Thanks for the info. I'll plan on getting our proctored test on the 15th before heading out to Disney Springs. Thanks:thumbsup2

Re: Testing 2 days before boarding or testing at port. I understand that any answers are based on current procedures and they are always subject to change.

We board our DCL cruise on 11/14/22. We live in NJ and we are driving to Port Canaveral. We will start out early morning on 11/12/22 and expect to arrive in Port Canaveral on 11/13.

My understanding of current rules for fully vaccinated adults from reading these threads and the DCL website is that proof of a negative COVID 19 test result must be taken no more that 2 days before sailing (11/12?) to be exempt from embarkation day testing. The Antigen test (home test kit?) must be proctored using a Telehealth service that can be uploaded to Safe Passage. Is this something that can be done once traveling say at a rest stop or from our car or at this point is our only option port testing?

What Telehealth services are available for testing that DCL will accept? Some of this information might be available on the safe passage website but It is too soon to register for safePassage

We purchased test kits from Emed and they were accepted by Safe Passage/Inspire Diagnostics. Inspire Diagnostics also offer their own home test, but you can't order them until two weeks before, and I thought it better to order Emed and have it (and a couple extra) tests on hand.

  • You could test at home on the 12th before hitting the road.
  • Or you could test from somewhere along the way. Are you driving straight through or stopping for an overnight?
  • Or you could test once you arrive in Port Canaveral on the 13th, as long as you’ll have time to upload results before midnight.

We will stopping over one night in Santee, SC. I saw on Onpoint I can schedule a zoom 24/7. I am thinking that we get up before we leave on the 12th to have the zoom call and upload results before we leave on the 12th so we won't have to deal with testing and uploading during the drive to Port Canaveral.

I have an e-mail into Onpoint regarding how far in advance we can schedule a zoom call for 11/12/22 to ensure we can get a time early enough on the 12th. Not sure how long it will take to hear back so if anyone on the boards has an idea of advance scheduling I would appreciate their input.
