Covid Testing in the US -- Any Free Options?

Hi there,

We are Canadian. We are taking a cruise on the Disney Wish in early August.

In the past we have set up Walgreens accounts and have successfully done NAAT testing (a year ago) to get back into Canada!
We need Covid tests to get on the cruise.

Turns out you now need to provide (unless I'm missing something) insurance information and/or state ID via Walgreens. It's still free ... but this step is new. :-(

Wondering if anyone knows of another "free" option like a "Walgreens" that we can take advantage of near Disney World/Universal. We will be there a few days prior to our our cruise - hence the reason testing back in Canada is not possible.

Last Oct I used Walgreens and for address I used my hotel address. I didn’t have to show any ID. For insurance question I entered None.
CVS also does free testing.
some people use the video proctored test, not free but not expensive.

We are planning a cruise in Jan and if testing is still required we are going to do a video call service. Last year we did Switch Health and it was great. I might also look into Life Labs and you can use your own test with them - I’ve got a lot of those green box tests left.

Most of the free testing options went away in the spring due to congress no longer providing funding for it. At this point, likely better to do one of the telehealth options.

No place I know of that now does free covid testing upfront. You pay and then get reimbursed through insurance. Our local CVS/Walgreens charge for testing. Maybe a local health clinic?
