Covid Test Q

I don't know if I agree with that. Because last time I had COVID the line got lighter as I started to get better until it no longer appeared.

Sure. The darkness of the line does have a lot to do with the concentration of antigens. But there's also the issue with the antibodies that make the line dark where they do start to degrade.

When I had COVID I was constantly retesting, and it was really dark for my first positive and my second test (just in case it was a false positive).

That's fine. I worked at a lab and with numerous intstant test labs and providers and they all told me and and it was in the training paperwork and specs.

Any line equals positive that I do agree with. But the more viral load the quicker & potentially darker the line will be. Of course various tests will appear differently.

I took a test a while back and the instructions with that kit even said that both lines need to appear (if positive for COVID) and it doesn't matter how faint or how strong each is. Just that BOTH lines need to appear to be a valid, positive test.

(It could be that less liquid made it over to the test line that was further away from the drops going into the strip. 🤷‍♀️ )

If it was negative, the test line still needs to appear.

Hope you feel better soon.

I've been sick since Saturday afternoon and used one of the Covid tests I had at home and tested positive. On the test the control line is faint compared to the test line. I know that any line, no mater how faint, on the test line is a positive. But is this the same for the control line, if there is even a faint line is the test still valid?
Did you bounce back?

Definitely working on it. Still testing positive. But no fever. Just a bit of a stuffy nose still. Thank you for asking.

Glad you feel better. And you could test + for weeks, even once you’re feeling better & not contagious. Husband & I had it for the 1st time in 2023, he was really sick & febrile for 1 day, felt much better after that. I was pretty sick for over 2 weeks. We both tested + for 3 and a half weeks. We had it again in September. Again, he was pretty sick for 1 day, I was sick for about a week. We both tested + for 2 weeks that time.

Hope you keep improving!

Work requires a negative test to return to work. Not sure what work would do if I continued to test positive for 3.5 weeks. I tested positive for 10 days when I had it in December 2023. I am hoping for 9 days this time, so I can return to work on Tuesday. I would have gone back today, if not for a negative test being required.
