I have an unexpected interview tomorrow for an admin assistant position. I *hate* writing cover letters, and now I have less than 24 hours to write a stellar one. Anyone have any tips? Examples? I've already "passed" the phone interview(which was unexpected, and happened today)...but I want to try to impress them in every way possible :scared1:

A few tips:
- Personalize the cover letter - using the name of the decision-maker in the hiring process
- Keep the cover letter short - never more than one page
- Outline how your experience ties into what the company is looking for and give examples of past accomplishments

You may need to rewrite the cover letter a couple time to make it perfect.

Personalizing it is a great suggestion. Go to the company's website and review it--finding a mission statement or customer service policy that ties in with items in your resume or something that was brought up during the phone interview.

For the interview itself - know what the company does and prepare some questions - not just about the job and your responsibilities, but about the company and what they do.

Good luck!
