Please help me write a cover letter....

Dear....
I would like to apply for the Editor position at ***** in Boston. In May of 2002 I graduate from Mount Ida College with a Bachelors degree in Communications and a concentration in Journalism. During the past 4 years I have worked full time as an Admissions Associate and also served as Editor-in-Chief of The Voice, our student run newspaper for 2 years. I have enclosed my resume and welcome the opportunity to discuss with you my qualifications for this position. List where you heard the position was open. Such as "I would like to apply for the Editor position at ***** in Boston that was advertised in the XYZ. The advertisement stated you need someone with ......", list the qualifications they require, then match them to yourself in some way.

I'm running to bed so this has got to be quick, but just a quick thing that I noticed... May of 2002 has already passed so therefore it'd either be "graduated" or else May of 2003, 2004, 2005...

Always try to use active voice rather than passive...

During the past four years I worked full time as an Admissions Associate and also served for two years as Editor-in-Chief of The Voice, our student run newspaper.

Remember spell out numbers under 10.
